Rehearsal lunch - is 2 hours enough?

Hali, on September 8, 2019 at 12:15 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 12
Hello brides and bride-to-be's! We're keeping it casual (and also logistics) so we're doing a rehearsal lunch instead of a dinner with 17 guests total. Is 2 hours enough? Has anyone done a lunch?

We are actually doing a rehearsal picnic at a local park we both love. We rented one of the covered shelters that have fans, picnic tables, grills, horseshoes, and volleyball net. The rehearsal is at noon followed by the picnic and games. We rented the shelter from noon-5pm.

I see nothing wrong at all with doing a lunch for two hours. As long as you’re feeding your guests, it shouldn’t matter which meal it is. I actually prefer to do the “rehearsal dinner” earlier in the day, as it gives me more time to rest and prepare the night before the wedding. 😄

2 hours for the rehearsal and the lunch or just the lunch? It might be pushing it for both.

I think with your amount of guests, 2 hours is enough. I’m having 40 guests for my rehearsal luncheon and mine will be 3 hours.

I think 2 hrs for lunch with a smaller group is plenty. Daughter's RD was also a welcome dinner for OOT guests. We had more than 40 people and an open bar, and we were done in about three hours -- and we purposely scheduled about 45 minutes for a cocktail hour before dinner was served so people who never met or hadn't seen each other in a loooong time could catch up.

We did lunch at a Chinese place (we were tapped out for money at that point). Ours probably was around 2 hours and it was fine.

Two hours is about standard. We had a welcome dinner in lieu of a RD and it lasted about 2 hours. The first hour was for eating and socializing and the second hour was for us to give our thank you speech and presents to everyone.

I think that's fine! We had a RD with 70 people and it took closer to 3 hours but there were a few courses & speeches.
