Rehearsal Superstition

Monique, on February 17, 2023 at 8:41 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 7

Growing up I was always told that the bride to be should not walk down the aisle before the wedding because its bad luck. Has anyone heard of this?

I’ve never heard of that before. I definitely wouldn’t worry about superstitions. Nothing is going to make your marriage fantastic or terrible, other than the two of you!

I have not heard of this before! I have heard that it's bad luck for the groom to see the bride before the ceremony, but my husband and I did a first look before our ceremony, and so far, so good, lol. I don't really follow superstitions though, so this wouldn't be something that I'd be worried about.

I would be more concerned about not knowing what I’m doing the day of and working out the kinks because I didn’t rehearse the day before lol!

I haven’t heard of this before. My church had my dad and I practice walking up the aisle at our rehearsal. Agree with the other posters about not worrying about superstitions as the only factors that determine whether your marriage will be a success is the two of you.

I’ve never heard of this! I agree not to worry about superstitions. I broke them all lol and as far as rehearsals I didn’t even have one!

I have heard of this but superstitions never work. If you as the bride don’t rehearse with everyone else then you won’t know what to do during the actual ceremony. You can’t do that with a stand in

Never heard this before and I definitely wouldn't worry about it (I'm not superstitious, though).

I had to walk down the aisle for our church ceremony during rehearsal, but it wouldn't make sense to have that rule because for a church, it's a church I've walked down the aisle several times before (for service, for my brother's wedding, etc)!
