Rehearsal with flower girls?

Andrea, on August 28, 2018 at 10:17 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8

Are any of you going to be rehearsing with the flower girl(s) on how to walk down the aisle or how to throw the petals? Or just letting them do it however? Haha!!

My daughters are going to be 5 and almost 2 when my wedding rolls around next year.

We are having our flower girls rehearse with us. During the ceremony I do want them to be more natural so I'm not giving "direction" per say.

I am! My flower girls are 4 and 7 and my RB is 2! I will like to do a walk through with them quickly. I told their moms to bring anything to entertainer them afterwards, I will provide a light snack until rehearsal dinner. But personally I need to visualize them walking down and discussing any plan b if they decided they do not want to do it! Smiley laugh

I would say have them rehearse with you. If for no other reason, it makes them less nervous. I remember when I was a flower girl when I was six and I was worried I would do it wrong, but the rehearsal showed me how easy it was and it put my mind at easeSmiley smile

I believe I was a flower girl around that age too, but I don't recall ever having a rehearsal. I might have, but I just don't remember. I do remember my petals running out before I reached the altar. HAHA that was funny. But I think I did a pretty good job. I get what you're saying, and I agree.

My daughter is two so I have her practice every so often just in our living room so she doesn’t keep trying to throw handfuls like baseballs lol

Yes I had my flowers girls and ring bearer rehearse with us because it was helpful for them to see the church and how to do things and where to go. Plus it was helpful for us to figure out the logistics of this too. It was at the rehearsal that we decided the little ones would go up on stage with the rest of the wedding party but only until the pastor gave the opening prayer. Then the little ones went to sit down in the front pew with their parent.
