Relaxation and adventure??

SnowyBride, on August 3, 2017 at 7:17 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 15

FH and I are researching honeymoon options! We're both pretty active and adventurous, but I also want to be able to lay on the beach and relax on our honeymoon. We're looking for somewhere we could hike, snorkel, etc. but also still veg on a lounge chair. Any ideas?? So far the only recommendation we're gotten is Costa Rica. Thanks!

I second Hawaii. That is what my FH and I decided on for the same reasons. Lots of hiking snorkeling etc. But also beautiful beaches!

Do a cruise. Choose your excursions. We will be doing zip lining at one place and then bumming it out at the other two locations

KAUAI! FH and I went there on vacation last summer, and it's a perfect mix of both. I need to be active on my vacations and he likes to relax - we were both beyond happy.

Getting married and spending a part of our honeymoon in Kauai, and even though we haven't been yet, we picked Kauai for all of the hikes and because there are some secluded areas of the island, and it just seems really chill. We will also be spending time in the Big Island as well. So another person chiming in about Hawaii, and specifically Kauai!

Kauai is the exact island for you! We went there for our honeymoon, and it has the most beautiful trails for hiking and also gorgeous beaches. Do a helicopter ride if you can afford it, that was the highlight of our trip.

Check out Sheraton Poipu beach it's an amazing hotel and right on the best beach of the island! Also - if you stay on the North side, there's a lot of rain. Poipu is the "sunny side" of the island, we never had any rain in the 10 days we were there.

Pretty much anywhere in the Caribbean will be great to relax and for adventures. They all have snorkeling, zip lining, hiking tours, etc.

I think Costa Rica would be perfect, short flight from the US, beautiful cloud forests and rainforests, lots of outdoorsy stuff to do, and great beaches! Monteverde is 100% gorgeous and I actually enjoyed my time in San Jose and Cartago, two cities in the central highlands that are often overlooked.

We are going to Playa del Carmen for 7 nights, 8 days. All inclusive, adults only, flight included for about $3800. I don't know of any hiking nearby. But there are Mayan ruins and snorkeling, beach, and other suggestions from friends who have been there. We wanted both a relaxing and adventurous honeymoon that wasn't a short stay and super expensive. I've heard from many people that all inclusive is the way to go. Check out the Sandals also they are made for honeymoons and romantic vacations. They were just out of our budget for a longer trip.
