My hands swell when I sleep and I wake up with my finger tingling and have to struggle to get my e ring off, I don't want to have to take my ring off every night, I'm kinda forgetful and don't remember to put it on in the morning. Does anyone else have this issue, swelling hands? Or have any...

I have issues with metals irritating my skin, I actually have plastic earrings because they're the only ones I can wear that won't irritate my ears. So I usually take my ring off when I get home from work, then put it on again in the morning. There's only been 1 or 2 days where I've forgotten it, but no one noticed or said anything.

I have a ring dish on my nightstand, next to my glasses and cell phone. I take my ring off at night and put it on when I get up in the morning. Once you get into the habit, you won't forget it!

I take my bridal set off when I'm at home. I them in a box and near my cell phone and glasses in the bedroom at night and grab all of them in the morning before leaving.

My hands swell as well. I typically take off my ring, and put it back on when I put on earrings. Maybe you should set an alarm in your phone around the time you leave the house to remind you to put it on.

I seriously never take my e-ring off. I swim, sleep, workout, shower, cook, do the dishes, pretty much everything you can think of with it on. I don't want to risk losing if down the drain or somewhere that I can't see it. I take it off every once in a while to clean with a toothbrush, but am so careful that I don't drop it. As far as the swelling goes, I got my ring fit slightly large. Not so large that it can slide off my finger, but large enough that it can move comfortably on my finger when my fingers aren't swollen and problem solved because even when they are swollen I can still get my ring off.

I take mine off at night - earlier if I'm handling meat or doing wedding crafts. But at a minimum, it comes off before bed. My hands swell, which isn't fun but can be tolerated. The big reason it comes off it the prongs are pretty prominent on my ring so when I was sleeping with it on, I was constantly scratching myself in the face at night!

Forgetting to put it on once in a while doesnt make you any less engaged. If it bothers you..take it off at night.

If your that forgetful about putting it on set a running reminder on your phone for each morning saying t put the ring back on.

I take mine off at night, but not because of the swelling. I was warned by a number of people that the springs can catch on sheets and over time that loosens your stones. I typically put it on after showering in the morning and then wear it all day, and take it off right before I climb into bed.

I only notice finger swelling when the temperature changes. If my left ringer feels too swollen, I will temporarily switch the ring over to my right hand for a bit, then switch it back 30 minutes later.

I don't wear mine in the house because it catches on things and drives me crazy. Once I'm married I will only wear my smooth wedding band to avoid that issue. Then I'll probably wear it 24/7

It'sBeardTime- how the hell do you workout with your ring on?

I'd be terrified of degloving my finger with it.

And Running means blood makes me hands swell- so that's a huge no no either.

My fingers don't really swell but I take mine off to sleep as well Smiley smile I put it next to my contact case on a ring holder so that I don't forget to put it on lol

But I do have a Qualo that I put on sometimes when i want to just lounge around at home and cook or clean or go to the gym, anything like that, and i sleep with that one on sometimes.

It's definitely okay to take off your ring, i also keep a little simple band in my car JUST in case I do forget it for whatever reason, I can just wear the band until I get home (it makes me anxious to not have any ring on now that I've had it for so long) lol

    ETA: dup word

I take mines off every night since getting pregnant it seems like my entire body seems to swell very often. I put in my bathroom by my toothbrush holder or by my jewelry stand so I don't forget to put it on in the morning.

Even working in health care I never take mine off. The majority of the people i work with do not either, but to each their own. When taking off my gloves I do notice that my ring is slightly more tight, but as soon as they cool off I'm good to go. I def have become more careful with taking my gloves off. I will be getting two bands one that will be soldered and one that will be free, so I can wear it to work, so until then we will see. (Knock on wood) If your waking up with ring too tight then maybe its a good call to try some of these other ideas, if it was me i would give it a try at leas. Reading all the responses has def. Opened my eyes and will have to consider some of the suggestions for myself.

I take mine off at night. The last 2 nights I slept with it on because we weren't at home, ended up scratching my face.

I received my engagement ring June 17, 2016. I only take it off when I'm putting on lotion, or cleaning with chemicals...for no other reason. I can't imagine telling my FH that I've lost my ring lol!

I take it off in the mornings, take a shower, then put it back on. That seems to be enough.

I don't know why this conversation is still happening... but I sleep with it, wash dishes with it, workout with it (even kettle bells), and shower with it. I take it off to put on lotion or to put oil or "stuff" in my hair. Also, I made hamburgers once and took it off. At first I was more careful now I'm like whatever. Diamonds and gemstones are pretty tough.
