Can anyone assist me with finding an inexpensive intimate setting space? I am trying to plan our engagement/announcement party, but I can't seem to find a good location. The ones I have found either have the setting I'm looking for, but it's inexpensive or vise versa. I'm looking in the Philadelphia, PA area mainly for about 30 guest seated, but also have enough space for a small dance floor, and outside catering allowed.


Any information is good information.

    Sometimes it can be difficult to find a venue that allows you to allow external caterers due to liability concerns. They want you to use either there caterer and pick off a list of approved caterers.

    What I would recommend is you working backwards by finding a caterer you want to work with for the party, or speaking with the caterer you’ve already chosen and ask them what venues they have worked at before! This would be a great way of finding a space that you know allow external caterers and that your caterer is familiar with!

    To answer your question, I do have a caterer already, but she just started her own catering business so I'm not sure if she has those type of connection just yet. But I will definitely ask her about it.

    It's no problem, Erin! If she doesn't have the connections herself, she may know of a fellow caterer in the area who would be willing to help and give some venue ideas! Definitely worth asking Smiley smile
