Repurposing Ceremony and Bouquets for Head Table

Jennifer, on October 31, 2021 at 8:48 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 18
To cut cost on florals and centerpieces, I was thinking of repurposing the bridal and bridesmaid bouquets and some of the bronze lanterns used for the ceremony. We are taking our bridal pics BEFORE the ceremony and don’t really care much for having the bouquets during the reception entrance. My plan was for a certain number of individuals in the bridal party quickly grab a lantern during the recessional and hand them to the DOC’s assistant, who will have a head start taking them to the reception venue before everyone is seated. Has anyone else done this? Do the logistics sound okay?

Definitely!! We used the bouquets to decorate our sweetheart table. We walked into the reception with them and then our bridal attendant took them from us and placed them on the table.

Oh okay cool! Haha yeah because I started thinking of the lanterns and it would be funny if all of the sudden everyone is carrying out a lantern on the way out haha. I think as long as they're placed by our DOC during cocktail hour then it should be fine.

Absolutely she can do it without anyone even see it happening. Ours was done during our first dance and no one noticed it happening lol Our table was very simple but I think the lanterns will be a beautiful addition Repurposing Ceremony and Bouquets for Head Table 1

At a friends wedding and again at my sisters wedding, all of us bridesmaids put our bouquets in vases on the head table as decor. We're repurposing our ceremony decor to decorate for cocktail hour, the venue staff is just going to move them right after the recessional while everyone is getting drinks at the cocktail hour start

Another vote for totally fine. At my friend's wedding, she didn't have us repurpose our bouquets, she already had florals on the tables and we naturally just put our bunches there when we sat down and it was a LOT. Like could barely fit place settings around all the flowers, haha! So I think it will be no problem.

Haha yeah. I think having vases on the table for the bouquets is a good way to get them off of the bridesmaid's hands. Who wants to hold them all night long?! At the very least, have the DOC just take them away.

This is exactly what our florist told us to do. She said why waste money on extra center pieces and we can get nicer bouquets with that money

Nice! I’m surprised a florist suggested doing it because that would mean less money for them.

Absolutely do it. If you have a DOC they should take care of this for you.

We repurposed my bridesmaids bouquets as wedding centerpieces!! I had tall wedding centerpieces, low arrangements, and then 7 centerpieces were actually bridesmaid bouquets with scattered votive candles and mini vases!

Here's a bridesmaid bouquet centerpiece from my wedding:

Beautiful! Is it the big floral centerpiece or the small one in the bowl thing? Just wondering what type of vase I should be using Smiley smile

Btw love your bouquet. I am obsessed with Silver dollar eucalyptus haha! I also love the whole burgundy, ivory, and blush palette. We ended up getting our bouquets, corsages, and boutonnières from The Bouqs and they have such a great selection with those!

Shoot I don't remember what kind of vases! They were supplied by my florist.

But I'd think a taller vase would be needed to keep the bouquets upright!
