Wow, I never thought I would have to reschedule our wedding twice.

Originally planned to get married April 24, 2021 - last year our venue told us that they were closed so we Rescheduled it to Sept 11, 2021. Two days ago they told us that they have not re-opened nor do they have a date set for reopening!!! I totally freaked out - WITH 120 days left I was not sure if we were going to find a new venue.

I was afraid to reschedule for the second time because I was afraid my vendors whom I love would not be available on our new date. So far 2 of them are available. My HMU artist unfortunately is not, which is a real bummer. I love her work it's a shame we wont be able to use her.

The last couple of days have been so stressful I even had a nightmare last night & woke up with knots in my stomach.

God always comes through, we have successfully booked with a great venue and our new wedding date is now

2 weeks earlier than our 2nd date ... LOL

To those that have gone through this, How did you do it?

Hi Erika, girl you are not alone!!
We married August 2020 (postponed from June 27, 2020). 3 weeks before our wedding the church couldn’t host us due to covid, so we moved ceremony to our reception location. 10 days before our wedding I went to scope out how to space out the ceremony and venue failed to inform us there was no room to make this happen. Long story short, moved our wedding ceremony to the rooftop of the connecting hotel and redesigned it in a week!! I never knew stress like that existed! I had panic attacks nightly for 6 weeks leading up and they would literally wake me up in the middle of the night. But, there was a silver lining. My aunt told me when we had to postpone “this was the day God chose for you and you will find out the reason that day”. Yep, she was right!! We had the most gorgeous weather and sunset on our wedding day 🌅 Our original date was super stormy!! Our wedding was a miracle and honestly wouldn’t change it for the world!!

Piece of advice - work hard and roll with the punches as they come. Continue self care to keep your mind and body healthy in order to think quickly on your feet when pivoting on plans. Good luck Erika and keep us posted ❤️❤️❤️

Hi Katie,

My FH and I just kept saying it's all in his plans. My silver lining is that our wedding is now going to be held in our #1 pick. They were not avail for our original date of April 24, 2021. I guess we can say we are meant to be married at this location after all.

Our original reception venue coordinator emailed us earlier this year stating that the original event space we booked will not be reopening. Luckily that had other event spaces available to offer. I just emailed her this weekend as I’ve heard nothing and feel a little nervous yet.

I feel ya, truly! Postponed our wedding 3 times (finally get it this June), and postponed honeymoon twice as well (finally get to go in two weeks). It’s been a hell of a long year! Sending you much love - this too shall pass and your big day will be AMAZING!!!

Twice? I wish! We are on our 4th!! I was in the very first round of brides who’s rug was ripped out from underneath the first week of April 2020. My dress was in final alterations, menus programs seating charts all completed. It was a SHOCK when the world shut down and canceled our wedding which was 2 weeks out. Fast forward, we are now on date number 4 and 20 some odd days away. I actually just can’t wait for it to be over at this point.
