For those who decided to move their wedding date, how was it for you guys? Did you guys had a hard time talking with your vendors? All my vendors have agreed to reschedule without any additional fee (October 10, 2020 wedding) except for my photographer. She said that prices for weddings next year has increased, that I have to pay for the difference. Also she wanted me to pay for changing fee since its not within the same calendar year (moving the wedding to October 10, 2021). It says on the contract that “Reschedule must be within the same calendar year of 12 months. A new retainer will be made if date change is made for 1 year after the agreed upon wedding date.” So I guess unless I change the date to October 09, 2021 I will have to pay for these extra fees that she mentioned. Should I wait for the “additional fees” or move on to another photographer and just let her have the retainer. I know that times are hard, it is for everyone. I was just hoping that she would be considerate like the other vendors. I appreciate any insight. Thank you! Stay safe!

All my vendors where good besides my band. I am getting married on 10/17/20 instead of 10/31/20. I am losing my deposit on the band. I considered getting an attorney because the contract says nothing about a pandemic only act if god. They were not considerate and if we wanted to move to 2021 it was 500 more and nothing in the contract that indicated an increase if the date was moved either.

I feel your pain! I’ve been postponed twice as well! Just at the moment we haven’t even had the heart ❤️ to choose a new date yet. Best of luck to you! Our original wedding date was in April too and August! So we might do sometimes April 2021 as well

Sigh. It's inevitable. Which date did you move your wedding? Glad your vendors are considerate!

Some brides are lucky to have understanding vendors but it seems there's always one that will give you a headache. I hope they realize soon that this is out of our hands and something that all of us didn't dream to happen. Rescheduling is a win on their part too instead of losing clients and credibility. Compassion and understanding is what we need and not their greed. Hope everything turns great for you! Keep us updated! Smiley smile

    UPDATE:

Photographer has finally agreed to reschedule with no extra charges. She apologized for overlooking the date. Very happy and grateful that things are sorted out. Back to being a merry bride to be! Smiley smile

This happened to us too! All of our vendors were super understanding granted the current state of the world, but our photographer is charging us an additional $500 Smiley sad. I understand that all businesses have been impacted, but it seems like they're not factoring in that the bride and groom are ALSO impacted. We're not changing our date because we want to. We're changing it because we HAVE to. Feels like highway robbery.
