Rescheduling and Rsvps

Lisa, on March 20, 2020 at 8:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 8
For those of us who have had to reschedule our weddings because of coronavirus, what are you doing about RSVPs?

Do you have to resend them out again? To reorder and buy stamps again is going to cost quite a bit. What is everyone doing?

I am pleased with all my vendors. They have been more than accommodating and willing to reschedule.

Considering online RSVPs. But I'll probably just suck it up. I did postcards with my last set. Probably do the same thing this time. So another $50ish on invite postage and another $35 on RSVPs... oh well.

We decided we would add some humor to the situation and send out “Save the Date...Again” cards. We will put our wedding website on those and probably ask for online RSVPs through the site.

I think I will send an email with the new date them send another invite. I agree its annoying to do it all over again. Minted has some nice all in one invites that I originally used that include a postcard RSVP you rip off at the bottom so it brings postage down.

We sent electronic notifications and called people to let them know that we postponed. We plan on sending a new details card with an RSVP closer to our new date (we went from April to October)

Hi Lisa! A lot of couples are sending out 'Change the Date' cards with their new wedding info and utilizing online RSVPs to cut down on postage costs. It might be worth checking with your invitation vendor. Some are offering to reprint for free or at a discounted rate for couples who have had to postpone due to COVID-19.

We have started gathering resources in our COVID-19 Wedding Support Central. You may find some helpful info there as you navigate through this time.

We had to reschedule our April wedding to October. First thing we did was reach out to all our guests who had already RSVP-ed and let them know we were rescheduling to October.

I was not even considering printing new invitations because I wanted to save on costs and I figured I would create my own invitations this time around to save money. I'm pretty good with graphics, so it wasn't a big deal. But then I saw minted post on their Instagram that they wanted to help brides in need. I inquired about a discount for new invitations, and instead they offered me 75% off my original order (which was a lot). I couldn't pass up on the offer and now I have new invites already on the way! Minted has been amazing!

I was still contemplating if I needed the invitations at all, but remembered that regardless, we need invitations with our new date, just for keepsake! I think it might be confusing for some guests to get the same invitation with a different date, so I was thinking of including a little card inside (maybe the size of a business card), explaining what happened and why we rescheduled for the new date. It'll also have our photo on it, so it's similar to a save the date (but not). These are really cheap to print via vistaprint.

I did mine using online invitations. The printed ones are part of your story now. The online ones will be too. It's cheaper, easier, and guests have more time to respond since rsvps and reminders are sent via email.
