Reuse

Ashlynn, on April 6, 2024 at 1:05 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7
Are any of you planning on rewearing any of your reusable items like your dress shoes or the guys' tuxes? I was thinking about doing that, but I didn't want to appear cheap.

If you have it and it’s rewearable, then absolutely rewear it! It’s beautiful and expensive stuff. I’d much rather find a chance to reuse it!

You can also modify a wedding dress by adding color, shortening it, using parts of it in other outfits or other options.

Wedding attire doesn't have to be one and done. If you can reuse, borrow, or rent, do it without guilt. I wore my own (colored) shoes and jewelry because current fashion looked cheap or painful. I bought my husband a new dinner jacket, but he wore his existing tuxedo pants.

Another partial option could be to wear your wedding attire for your first-year anniversary.

I got some water proof Birkenstocks that were for my wedding they are white, now I just wear them around the house because they are comfy and now shower shoes too, a family friend gave my Grandma a pooka shell (excuse the spelling, not sure if its right) necklace I rarely wear unless its formalesque events.

Also forgot to mention, if your other half reuses his suit, its good for job interviews or other formal events. My other half used his for job interviews before the wedding.

I purposely bought shoes I knew I'd wear again. We also had the groomsmen just wear black suits and a white dress shirt, which they all already owned. My husband bought a new custom suit for wedding, but he's worn it at least 6 times since then for other weddings and events.
