Rhinestone Bouquet Wrap. I need help!!!!

His #1 Lady, on October 22, 2014 at 11:55 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

I really want to make a bouquet cuff like this, but I have no idea what kind of material or object for the structure of the cuff to use to put the rhinestones on. Is anyone familiar with this that can offer me some advice? I would really appreciate it.

Michaels sells rhinestone "ribbon." I put it in quotes because it's not a cloth. Just wrap whatever color actual ribbon (double-faced satin looks nicest and works best) around the part of the stems that you want covered. Then take that rhinestone "ribbon" and wrap around. You'll have to cut it to match, and do multiple sections because if you overlap the rhinestone stuff, it bulks up and looks bad. If you do multiple sections, each section will only be one layer thick. I'm kinda bad at explaining it with words, so here's a terrible Microsoft Paint rendering:

*PS - use hot glue to secure, and for extra security, buy some silver pearl-headed pins.

From what I see it's some type of tube with the rhinestones individually placed. I'm just trying to figure out what kind of tube to use.

Skip to 0:55 and just do that on your bouquet repeatedly until you've reached the bottom, or whatever point you want the rhinestones to stop.

Oh I see. I don't know. The problem with that is that you won't know how wide your bouquet will be until a day or so before your wedding, unless you're doing silks or paper flowers, which will be done in advance. You could get some kind of stretchy fabric so it would stretch to the size of your bouquet stems, but then if the fabric is too skinny and has to stretch too far, you'll have space in between where there are no rhinestones.

I don't want the rhinestone wrap of any sort. i want an actual hard cuff. From what I've been told I can make the cuff and a florist should be able to make the flowers fit the cuff.

Honestly it looks like each rhinestone was individually placed. So, maybe get a cardboard tube (like used for shipping posters)

Here is a link to a quick amazon search: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=cardboard%20tube

and outline the initial you want as a guide (which is what is looks like they did), and get to gluing Smiley smile

It looks like some sort of hard tube, like plastic or thick cardboard. I'm not too sure.

If you want a hard coff, I would get the thin walled PVC and use that but hold it and walk around with it for a bit before spending the time decorating. I wouldn't think it would be very easy to hold on to.

I'm tempted to ask an etsy seller what is used for the cuff because I refuse to pay $339 for it when I'm sure I can make it myself for far less.

This is beautiful. Looks like a paper towel holder or if you want to stick your bouquet in water at the ceremony you can use an acrylic cylinder you can normally find them on ebay. Looks like individually glued sawrovski crystals. Paint the paper towel holder silver before applying crystals. Give to your florist and they can make bouquet to fit. Good luck this is beautiful.
