Ribbons - Best place to get them?

SeattleBride, on April 30, 2015 at 4:48 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 17

We are doing these centerpieces and need navy and gold glitter ribbon. The ribbons I used wont work because I cut larger ribbon in thirds to make this size and they are fraying on the edges. Does anyone have a great place to get ribbon? I am a very visual person. I know I can order things online for less but I have no clue how they feel or what the color actually is. Suggestions?

I usually go to the store to look and take pics of labels, then buy cheaper online. For the end of the ribbon situation, you can burn the edge with a lighter. If you are doing them all at once, I suggest you use a candle. Good luck! They are cute.

For the navy check Ebay. I got tons of ribbon on there for practically free. Glitter ribbon I have not shopped for. If no square corners, so they are rounded a bit you could try scrapbook paper and a really good paper trimmer to cut those to fit and glue them on, assuming your not doing a bow on it.

I'd say Costco but they would be wider most probably ... Try Walmart?

I've bought a ton of ribbon at Joann fabrics. Get a 50%off coupon, go in and find what you need and order it in store. When you order it, they ring it up as one item even if you have 50 spools so that one coupon applies to all of it.

I stocked up on ribbon at Hobby Lobby not too long ago - they were running a 50% off sale. If you want to just go with what you already have, try applying some clear nailpolish to the edges of the ribbon to keep it from fraying.

It's not the ends.. It's the entire edge of the ribbon. But why spend $10 when I don't have to. I will try different ways to keep it from in fraying first.

    Thanks guys

Michaels usually has sales on their ribbons too, just measure the size that you need.

Navy and Glitter are very nice ribbon colors. If you want to get affordable ribbon supplier, lets check below, they will provide reasonable prices. I used this ribbon for making hair bows.
