Ring bearer and flower girl asking

So we are getting married in October and we have still not asked our ring bear and flower girl to be in our wedding. I was waiting until we would get together and ask their moms first but with covid we haven’t been seeing anyone as much and I feel weird asking them over the phone, but now we are 90 days out and I don’t want to put it off anymore. They are also friends of my husband so I don’t know them as well as he does which makes it a little awkward. Should I just call and ask so it’s not super last minute or try and get together. Thanks!

    Have your future spouse do the asking (since you say they are his friends, not yours) and as soon as possible. And since it's so last minute, I wouldn't put any special/difficult/expensive requirements on their outfits, either.

    Ask them now. Typically you ask attendants at 6 months so they have time to make necessary arrangements with ordering attire, etc.

    I definitely would ask them now especially if they will have to purchase outfits for their children

    I would definitely ask ASAP. Depending on the ages of the kids, they might have other things scheduled already for the fall so the sooner you ask the better.

    I would have your fiance ask as soon as possible and know what they're wearing when you ask. That way, if they say yes the outfits can get ordered or picked up immediately. Like Maggie said, because it's so close I wouldn't be super picky or make them expensive unless you plan on covering the cost.
