Ring Insurance

Chelsea, on October 27, 2019 at 5:28 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 29
Has anyone gotten insurance on their rings? If so who did you go through? I wanted to go through jewelry mutual, but that’s going to be almost $900 a year which seems insane but I have no frame of reference so idk?

I insured mine for less than $50. I'm not sure what kind of ring you have as this strongly influences price. However, this seems insanely high!

Did you go through jewelry mutual? My ring was a little expensive so I anticipated maybe a couple hundred dollars a year but not this much!

My fiancé went through his home owner’s insurance. I think it was around $250/year. Of course this is dependent on the ring.

We went thru jewelers mutual. We pay a little more than $200 a year for my engagement ring, wedding band, and my husbands wedding band.

Mine is insured through somewhere the jeweler recommended. It covers everything. Not sure how much it costs since my fiancé got it with my ring. But I think having some kind of insurance is a must. If anything, add it to your homeowners/renters insurance. That doesn’t cost much.

I use State Farm as a personal articles policy. That’s who I have my home & auto through so did it through them. When I went to get it appraised the jeweler recommended that same company. I looked it up and compared the coverage. Same exact coverage. Same $0 deductible. But the price at Jewelry Mutual was more expensive.

I just talked to my renters insurance and for a $0 deductible it will be $390 a year. Jewelry mutual seems too expensive!

My policy through Jewelers Mutual is $54 a year. For reference, my ring is valued at about $3500.

I went through my homeowners insurance. It is costing me about $220 a year. They will require the certificate from your jeweler. It's very easy to do and worth it. You want to protect your ring in case anything happens to it.

FH has my ring insured though his homeowner's insurance through State Farm. It's $500ish a year, but that's due to the high appraisal of my heirloom ring.

That’s the issue I’m running into as well, with a $500 deductible it will be just under $400 a year. But I’d rather be safe than sorry!

Yeah I definitely want to protect it! I think it’s worth paying the $400 a year

I added an additional schedule to my renter’s policy. It’s about $200 a year.

Insurance for me was about $200 and i thought it was worth it, but $900/ year does not seem worth it to me
