Ring Warming Ceremony Covid-edition?

Sarah, on August 16, 2020 at 10:31 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 7

Hello! One thing that my FH and I wanted to incorporate into our wedding was a ring warming ceremony, where the rings are passed around so people can bless them with prayers and well wishes. I’d still very much like to do this, but I’m trying to figure out how to make it more COVID friendly. Please let me know if you’ve done this, or if you have any ideas on how to do this without spreading germs from person to person. Thanks in advance!

Instead of physically passing the rings around, you can hold it out and ask people to give the rings their "warm wishes"

Pre-covid I wanted to do this too. Our plans have changed enough for it not to be an issue, but I have thought about it a lot. The best plan I came up with was to put them in a little display box (museum style, maybe acrylic?) near the back of the aisle or wherever people enter the ceremony space. There would be a sign asking people to bless/pray over/smile at/say something nice to the rings on their way into the ceremony so they could still kind of do the same thing without actually touching the rings. Your best man/maid of honor/someone walking down the aisle ahead of you could pick them up on the way down so no one else would have to touch the box.

Perhaps you could put them in a small see clear bag like you get from some jewelry stores. That way they wouldn’t actually be touched but folks could still bless them. Or display them in an acrylic heart shaped box. Best of luck I think this is very sweet part of your ceremony.

Love this idea. It can also help keep things moving during the ceremony without having to wonder where the rings ended up after the passing.

Pass a bottle of hand sanitizer around before the rings.

What if you put them in a box near the entrance to ceremony (perhaps by a guest book/greeting sign) and a note explaining what to do and also a bottle of hand sanitizer nearby? I would think guests would get the memo to use sanitizer before/after warming the rings and then taking their seat. Thinking of doing this also! Good luck!

Maybe you can have a mini hand sanitizer bottle on each seat and ask everyone to sanitize before passing around the rings?
