Robbing the Cradle

I'm older by a little over a month. We're both 35. I'm usually the one making comments!

I am 15 years younger than FH...he'll be 56 & I'll be 41 when we get married...no weird looks here, both of us are the happiest we've ever been & that's all that matters to either of our families...age is just a number :-)

I'm 25 and FH is 33. We joke about the age difference between ourselves, but other people don't comment.

I'm 38, he's 35. No one has ever had anything negative to say about it the almost 9 years we've been together.

I am 3 days short of being a year older than he is; no one has ever made a comment about our age. (I just turned 40 and he turned 39; I think we are past the point where age is a consideration at all)

I'm honestly really surprised as I read this. I never thought small age differences, like up to 6 or 7 years were even thought of as "robbing the cradle." I mean, I realize even 3 years can be a big deal to a 16 or 18 year old, because of life experiences, but as you get older, age differences mean less because people's viewpoints/life experiences tend to level out: most have had a steady job, lived on their own, etc. I do find it a bit entertaining to tease FH that when he was a senior in high school, I was still a baby, but honestly, at this point in our lives, it doesn't make the difference it would to an 18 year old with a 34 year old.

We are a little more than 17 years apart. He's nearing 44 and I'm nearing 27.

I'm 9 months younger than him! BUT, my parents are 14 years apart in age.

We will both be 31 when we get married, but I am older. The difference is small (about three weeks), but my FH likes to say I'm several weeks over.

I'm older... I'm 26 and FH will be 25 in a month. He's a year and a half younger but since he's been in the "real world" working and is a just a pretty mature person, it never bothered me that he was younger.

I am 25 and FH is 24. I am a year and 4 months older than him, but people don't really make comments. My dad jokes around with me sometimes but nothing serious.

DH is 6 months older than I am. We do get looks sometimes though, because DH looks older (like late 20s or early 30s) and I look younger, probably around 20. We're both 24. My MIL is 6 months older than FIL and he's been told "oh, your daughter plays piano wonderfully" about her before, so hopefully that doesn't happen to us down the road.

Im exactly a day short of being 3 years younger than him. I'll be 23 & he'll be 26 (next month) . No comments but Im sure a few are comments are not being said about our age because I know what those same people say about others.

I am 20 he is 21. Some people think I am 16.

Let the haters hate. My last GF was 10 years younger than me, I'm 42. Be happy, nothing but a number.

I occasionally get some age comments. When we get married I will be 23 and he will be 28. I think most of the comments are because I look really young (kinda have a baby face and I'm short too), and we grew up in the same town, so everyone knows both of us, and kind of think of us as different age groups.

I am one year and 7 days older. He started school late and i like to joke that I am two social years older.

I am a year and 11 days older than my FH. No one makes any comments.

To me, age differences matter more the younger you both are. So a 10-year age difference doesn't bother me much if we're talking about a 26-year-old dating a 36-year-old. But I wouldn't approve of the same relationship if it started 10 years earlier. My brother's girlfriend is 11 years older than he is, and my friend's boyfriend is 12 years older than she is, but my brother is 29 and my friend is 26.

I'm 3 years younger than my fiance is; I had just turned 25 when we met, and he turned 28 soon after. It's not too weird for us; he's the same age as my brother, and I'm the same age as his brothers, so it's not a generational shock for us. We're also at similar points in our lives; we were both looking to settle down, we were both done with college and had been in the workforce for a while, etc. I usually forget that he's older, not because he's immature, but because we're both on the same page.

DH is late October and I'm early February-- we go back and forth about wether that makes me '8 months older' or '10 months'. Either way, not enough difference for anyone to comment.
