I’m very torn between 2 venues that I like. I live in Suffern NY however north jersey is very close to me and I have always dreamed of getting married in North Jersey.
Recently went to the grove and loved the wedding coordinator, the ballroom and the historical house that surrounds the ceremony area but I did realize that I would have to create the ceremony area from scratch and I wasn’t in love with the dance floor and was thinking of doing a white dance floor decal. The ballroom was on the darker side however lighting can be adjusted. I didn’t like how there was limited outdoor picture opportunities such as a garden area or a gazebo to take pictures in.
The venue was also on a main road. There wasn’t an outdoor area for smokers or an outdoor area to walk out to during cocktail hour.
But liked the high ceilings and stairs that lead down into the ballroom. And the bridal suites and historical house with rooms for photo opportunities were a plus.
The Rockleigh had all those things to offer in terms of outdoor pictures with a garden and water fountain and a ceremony area with pillars that I loved I would just have to decorate it with flowers essentially. I like that the venue wasn’t on a main room and it had an outdoor area for cocktail hour and for guests who are smokers. The ballroom was on the smaller side with lower ceilings which I didn’t like. The bridal suites were a bit smaller.
I am having a hard time deciding between both and don’t know what to do. If anyone with wedding planning experience or who has been to both of these venues please comment! I would like all the advice I can get.
My fiance is super laid back and wants me to be happy and likes both venues equally so ultimately I feel that I have to make the final decision. Send help! Thanks in advance
