As much as I would love the snow, it doesn't snow where I am and its not practical for guests haha but ours is next "winter" (Dec 7th). Our elements: outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour while half outside half inside reception, lots of christmas lights and white elements, lots of greenery and bark. I chose winter because it is hot where I am and FH and I love the cool weather! I love the idea of having a fire and throw blankets with a smore bar or hot coco! Snuggle time Smiley heart

Take what you can get. Totally understandable. We were originally gonna do winter but things got turned around and we settled for summer. It's in California so it shouldn't be too bad. Reception will be inside so even if it does get a little crazy, it'll only be for a short period of time.

Yes!! That's sounds amazing. That's what I originally wanted to go for too but now we're in the summer, which I'm ok with but winter was definitely my first choice.

We are a Pi Day wedding - 3/14/20. Our venue has 2 fireplaces, so hoping it's cold enough to turn them on (so beautiful!). We'll also decorate with lots of candles, so it will be very cozy. I'm in Ohio, so it should still be pretty cold in mid-March. Our life will be very busy in the spring/summer with a high school graduation. March was discounted as a "winter" wedding so that was the deal maker over waiting until fall 2020. Plus, I've waited 8 years for this, so sooner is better. Colors are dusty blue and yellow with some silver accents. We thought about serving pie, but I just can't not have a wedding cake. So, we are going to get apple pie cookies for our favors.

Yes 2020. I went solo- although my reception venue has a day of coordinator. And we’re ALMOST done. Working on invitations now to send out in a few weeks. Also have to hire transportation.

That's great! For the most part I'm solo but I'm super nervous about style and decor, having to put up everything ourselves. I don't know the first thing of what I think goes where so I think I'm going to have to suck it up and hire a partial planner.

She'll also cover some other things like wedding rehearsal, decor mock up and all that good stuff including a D.O.C. I want to cry but I think it'll be worth it in the end lol. Although I'm constantly doing something wedding, I feel like I'm so far behind!

We didn’t pick our date based on the season but the more I think about it the more I’m glad we did. Cold months are more romantic to me because it make you want to cuddle and sit by the fire. Our wedding is a destination wedding so we chose February because it’s when hotel prices are the cheapest. We were trying to think of our loved ones budget. My theme is Beauty and the Beast. The movie fits us as a couple. I didn’t realize it until later also, but the whole movie takes place in the winter months. Smiley smile

A really big reason my fiancée and I chose winter is because she's a high school teacher. The other good option was summer but we live in the southwest, so a summer wedding here would be torture! So, we're taking advantage of her winter break from school to prepare, then having the wedding after her first week back (to allow people to travel). We're then postponing the honeymoon until a spring school break.

She's really into the rustic thing, so lanterns, bistro lights, fairy lights, maroon, and blankets will all make appearances at our wedding, along with some sweet bookish touches. She also picked out a plantation style mansion for our venue (I love it!) which really lends itself to a winter wonderland theme.

That's sweet. Is it indoors/outdoors or both?

Living in Florida, the best option was a winter wedding (unless I wanted to roast on my wedding day). Luckily being in Florida also means, no harsh winters! So it’ll be the perfect cool weather for a rustic and romantic wedding. I believe the winter time is one of the most romantic times of the year so I couldn’t imagine doing it in any other season!

Oh that's beautiful!! It does take place in winter months. That's perfect. I originally wanted winter too but some things got in the way so we had to move it but that's so exciting! Beauty and the Beast is such a gorgeous theme!

Thank you. I can't wait to see it all come together. I am hoping everyone will appreciate the time and money I put in to everything to make it beautiful. It came out to be way more expensive than I planned on lol.

I definitely feel the same but that's nice that you kind of get the best of both worlds because during the winter it's not all crazy cold lol. I was ready for a winter wedding and in the end it just wasn't in the stars for us so we're in the summer.
