The reason I choose winter wasn’t because of the season but the day. We started dating 2012 on leap year and got engaged 2016 which was another leap year. We decided that Leap Day would be the best day to get married haha! Since we are having a unique day, we decided to bring a unique-ish theme. The 1920s! We have a Navy, Gold and Emerald color palette with ivory to balance everything out. (If it snows it will just add to the beauty of the theme!)

Thank you and congratulations to you as well! It took me awhile to think of how to do the theme. I was torn between Peaky Blinder style vs. Great Gatsby style. But once I got my venue everything set into place (Rustic Barn = Bootleg 20s) lmfao!

I always wanted a fall wedding in October, I had my heart set on an October wedding. Then I started seeing pictures of spring time weddings, so then I wanted a spring wedding. Which both of those thoughts went down the drain when I found out my brother would be deployed over seas next year from February/March to October/November. So that is how my fiancé and I choose a December wedding. We live in Las Vegas so there is not to much wintery stuff we can do. Our theme is Beauty and the Beast so I am going to get the winter coat thing Bell wore during the winter scenes in the movie. My fiancé and I are also going to honeymoon right afterwards in a cabin in the mountains.

I love the theme. I know before my Fiancé and I decided on Beauty and the Beast, we where going to do a roaring 20’s themed wedding and have it at the Mob museum.

I LOVE the Beauty and Beast theme!!! I’m a huge Disney fan (I have a Disney tattoo lol!) the winter coat like Bell’s will look beautiful. Also a 20s theme wedding at a Mob Museum is pretty cool.

That is beautiful, I love it. I know the date my fiancé and I choose is on my aunts birthday who passed away in 2015. So we are going to do a little commemorative birthday celebration for her during the reception.

That's awesome! We live in Vegas too but our wedding is in California in August. We're taking our engagement photos next month in Mt. Charleston.

Your theme sounds gorgeous though. I wanted a December wedding and then so many of our previous plans fell through but I'm still super excited.

We're doing a mini moon weekend at Disneyland right after because it's hurricane season during our wedding where we plan on going so we're waiting 6 months before heading over.

Ya I love Beauty and the Beast as well, even though my all time favorite Disney princess and movie is Mulan. I love the song “A tale as old as time”, that is what drew me to the idea of a Beauty and the Beast themed wedding. (My fiancé said our first dance won’t be to “A tale as old as time”). Even though that song describes us almost perfectly.

My fiancé and I are actually thinking about honeymooning at Mt. Charleston. We want to do something affordable and close to home. Which Mt. Charleston should be a romantic honeymoon destination in December. Your pictures are going to be amazing.

    Thank you!

That makes perfect sense and I'm sure it's going to be wonderful! I've actually never been up there so I'm pretty excited to finally see it next month!

Having our wedding in VT in ski country on 2/6/21! I always wanted a storybook wedding, and flickering candles, falling snow and cascading velvety fabrics can help to make it come to life. The only issue I am facing now is having back up plans for transportation/shuttles if the weather gets a little too wintry...
