We are doing a winter wedding for many reasons. Our first date was in January and it snowed all day. We are getting married 2 days after the date of our first date 1.19.2020. Also what was shared in earlier posts I love the idea of not sweating, being cozy and having the candles create a romantic vibe. Also bonus our vendors have been more available and provided discounts because of the time of year.

I'm in Pennsylvania. We picked our wedding date as 12/21/2019. Our wedding colors are black, white, and red, and of course some silver here and there. My mom and my sister will be wearing red dresses. The church will have candle stands set up (for Christmas Eve), so I bought white candles for the ceremony. Our wedding cake is black and white tiers with black and white flowers. The table centerpieces (they come with the reception venue) will be white and red flowers with some decorative picks that I have and they will have string lights wrapped into them. The chairs will have white chair covers on them with a black bow. I'm doing a candy buffet as favors. We had stemless wine glasses engraved and everyone will be able to fill them with black, white, and red candy. My shoes are going to be sparkly red shoes like Dorothy in the wizard of oz!

Oh wow. That sounds wonderful. Congrats!! We're going to have a dessert table as our favors. We will have little bags that I designed on Zazzle that the guests can fill up.

I'm still trying to figure out what to do when we are leaving. I'm thinking glow sticks because we can do them inside and they won't make a mess. Any other ideas?

If you're looking into things to do inside - no mess, maybe you can do something like bubbles (not bad if you don't spill the bottle), ribbon wands, bells or pom poms.

Our wedding is in August of 2021 but I always thought winter wonderland weddings were beautiful. I almost wish I was doing them, and then realized we live in North Dakota, and in the winter, the weather can turn severe in a real quick hurry. With a lot of family and friends traveling from out of town and out of state, we decided it would be best to stick to summer Smiley smile

That makes perfect sense. I was looking forward to doing a December wedding but then we decided against it because of family holidays and such. We're doing August 2020. Physically it seems so far away but financially it seems to sneak up and I'm freaking out lol.

I feel the same way and I have until 8/13/21.

I can't believe everything that comes with planning weddings, cost wise.

It's ridiculous but now I wish we had done 2021 lol. We'll figure it out though. I think I'm more worried than anything because of catering. Still waiting on that invoice. Everything else has been pretty decent.

Our anniversary is in March. We're signing the marriage license on our actual anniversary. The wedding is the following Saturday. So, we kind of didn't want to memorize another date! LOL! We're non-traditional anyway and we were tired of waiting.

We are having a winter wedding because summer in Texas is just too hot. We arent really having a winter theme but I'm sure the temperatures will be much better for the men's kilts than summer would be!

Oh nice. Kilts. I was originally a summer bride but it looks like I'll in fact be turning into a winter bride myself. We'll see what happens lol.
