Rooftop wedding?

Emily, on July 3, 2018 at 1:37 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 8
I live in Seattle and am planning a Summer wedding but was wondering about the pros and cons for a rooftop wedding! Is it too windy? Too loud? I've checked out the venue already and I loved it but I just wanted to know if the time of day would be different as well. It would probably be at 4pm. If anyone has any tips that would be great, thanks so much!!

I'm not sure about the weather there, but a rooftop wedding during July would be veeeery hot in most parts of the country.

I don’t know about wind, but the sun is usually pretty hot still at 4pm in July. Is there a backup plan in case of heat or rain?

I bet it would be lovely in Seattle, especially if there's any type of shade on the roof!

Hi Emily! Welcome to the WeddingWire Community! Smiley ring A Seattle rooftop venue sounds beautiful! I would just keep a close look at Farmers Almanac to get a accurate idea of how the weather will be for this day. Do you know if the venue has indoor accommodations in case of any inclement weather?

Is there any shade on the roof? This sounds super intriguing (and beautiful), but my building’s roof has absolutely no shade, and even though it’s only like 12 stories up, the sun is MUCH stronger up there!

It sounds like a great idea, as long as there is a decent backup plan in case of rain or if it's just too hot.

Hey guys! So the wedding isn't for another 2 years so I have lots of time to plan and create back up plans. I'm wondering if I should just get a big tent to cast shade over everyone or would that be weird? If I'm in the city for my wedding I wouldn't want my guests to move venues so I'm just trying to figure out where to have it if the rooftop isn't a great idea.
