Rose Petals

Jacquelyn, on July 1, 2011 at 11:10 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 15

Anybody do a rose petal aisle? I'm looking for the best deal out there for rose petals. Freeze dried or fake. Either one, I just cannot afford the price the florists give.

I started one of these threads a few months ago. I'm back at it. Just want to scatter the petals on the sides of the aisle. Not super thick like that or attached to anything. Not sure yet how much I need either.

On my profile is a petal calculator....

    http://www.petalgarden.com/petalcalc.htm

Petal Calculator ~ How many do you need for the Aisle or Tables.

If you are not in a hurry..... I spent $2 for 1,000 petals from china. on ebay.

took awhile to get here (2 or 3 weeks I think) It was for my friends wedding last fall, she had 100 people there and 12 ?? rows of chairs set up. It was in a room, not a church. I got a nice amount going up and down on the edges.

I promote china when it is not a wedding Dress.... I once got a cute pearl costume bracelet for $1 ... free shipping... it was crazy!!!!

For the petals, some of them start off the bidding at .01 and you just need to cross your fingers.

Efavormart is a good place for fake rose petals...last I checked they were a decent price too, and have lots of colors to choose from

edit to add: I totally want to do that tulle petal thing for table runners now...I think it would totally look awesome and add my colors to my tables being we're using the venues table clothes and such...

Not as cheap as $2 for 1000, but you can get 300 at dollartree.com for $1. The site has info on how to dye their white petals any color you want.

We got our freeze-dried rose petals from Flyboy Naturals. At least at the time, they had the best deals on freeze-dried petals.

Ebay has lots of stuff online -- everything I've boughten so far for the wedding except one thing has come from ebay and from someone in China lol. Ribbons, the butterflies I posted and diamonds and all was very cheap but great quality. I'd check out ebay as Haylay suggested. Good luck!

So for those of you that have already used rose petals do you prefer fresh or freeze dried? How far in advance did you order your fresh petals?

Does anyone know how you can make your own petals? I love the camo petals but didn't know if there was a way to make my own out of camo fabric.
