ROSES OR CALLA LILLIES?

I had that same problem. If it helps, when I talked to my florist she said that calla lillies hold up better throughout the day than roses do. My ceremony starts at 5p and she said that she would be afraid the roses would start to wilt and "look sad" by then. That's why I decided to go with calla lillies even though they are so much more expensive.

I love the elegance of Calla Lillies.

A lot will depend upon the flowers available at the time of your wedding.

My daughters floral arrangements included both roses and calla's. The Calla Lillies were the focal point.

Talk to a florist and tell her everything from budget to time of day to location, what is best for August heat as well. This is really a flower expert question, but I seriously doubt the word budget and Calla go together.

I agree that Calla lillies are more expensive but I had a florist tell me that it really depends on what season and what flowers are available

I'm having a little of both in my bouquet!

I personally dont like the lillies, but if *I* had to pick i would do all roses.

I had both roses and cala lillies but the lillies were what made my bouquet more expensive per the florist. My bridesmaid had all roses, and hers was much cheaper.

I was going to say, how about both. I love calla lillies myself and used a combination of flowers in addition to the darker orange calla lillies in my bouquet. Professional photograph by Marius Lardizabal.

Roses!!!!

The photo I attached here is what I wanted my bouquet to look - it kinda came out looking like it but my orange was darker.

I love calla's. I love them so much I have them in my garden.

@Mom N-are they hard to keep? (the calla lillies) I mean are they fragile or are they pretty hearty? I think I'd love to have some too in my garden!

Calla lilies always remind me of funerals. (I live in Australia, so it may be different in the US). I would choose roses a million times over callas for this reason.

I think calla lillies are more modern and elegant.

I think roses are more traditional and perfect for a garden wedding.

A lot of my beach brides carry a mixture of both.

I am a rose kind of girl! Classic. My mom would say Callas though they are her favorite!

For weddings, I don't like white calla lillies, but I do love colored ones! Roses are fine, but it depends on the color...
