So i am having a hard time trying to decide if I should go with roses or calla lillies for my wedding. I have no idea which is less expensive and since I am on a budget, I need some help. Thanks

For weddings, I don't like white calla lillies, but I do love colored ones! Roses are fine, but it depends on the color...

@Binx, is that your bouquet?!?!?! It's GORGEOUS and EXACTLY what I've had in mind!!! Do you have more pics?

Roses are a little less expensive then calla lilles, BUT I LOVE the lines & sleekness of the calla lillies thats's why I chose it for my bouquet.

Just noticed no lilies there, will look for one with both (one of my best friends who stepped in as an informal co-ordinator for the day as well):

Officially & Binx - both of you had gorgeous bouquets!! I am doing callas for the bouquets & wedding party flowers but I am undecided about what to do for centerpieces at this point (possibly a combo of callas & roses). I am doing the flowers myself and ordering wholesale on-line with my FSIL helping with the arranging as she works for a florist down in Louisiana (which is awesome! Best part is she offered to help before I had a chance to ask her if she could).

I am very partial to lilies of any kind but I do love the elegance of callas - my STDs and Invites have a calla background.

They are actually easy to grow. They multiply and regrow year to year. They take over any area you put them in. I have the classic white and the light purple. I plan on getting more colors this year. I love to cut long stalks and put in large clear vases around the house.

@Mom N. That sounds so lovely. I cannot have fresh flowers in my home, as my cats, well, they, ummm, think they are toys. Ack!

I also cannot grow them as I do not "do" outdoor activities. I'm allergic to bees, so, gardening is not me. LOL!

Kudos to those of you who can, and enjoy it!

I like roses. Generally roses are cheaper. Depending on if you want some other accent flowers those could raise or lower the price of the bouquet. You'll need to tell the florist when your ceremony is and how long the flowers need to hold up and what type of elements (A/C inside or outdoors in heat) they will need to survive.

Good question: With our flower buudget, I found a florist that would do the bridal bouquet starting at $65 with 5 or more calla lillies. The rose bouquet starts at $95. Either can be really romantic and the choice depends on what look you'regoing for. I vote calla lillies. But i am a little bias!

the attached picture is very similar to what the centerpiece looked like only we used ver dark purple callas as my colors were eggplant, dark magenta & silver (as you'll see on my other i-boards). hope this helps.

I like the look of Calla Lilies but for pricing I am going with roses. I think they are both beautiful.

Mini callas come in bunches of 10 and cost wholesale around 3-5 per stem. Roses come in bunches of 25 and cost 85 cents to 3 dollars per stem. I usually use a mix for my brides, the bride should have the most precious flowers in her bouquet. good luck!

My fave is callas. My bouquet was fuschia callas and orchids (no roses). My MOH was just callas. They threw a couple of roses in the centerpieces (even though I said no roses, just not my taste...but they do look beautiful)

I am going with Picasso Calla Lilies, which is a white lily with purple on the inside, and eggplant Calla lilies. I think it is elegant and beautiful. You should do what makes you feel happy and beautiful. This is your day!

I am having this same debate! My question is do Callas come in off white? This is a second wedding for me and I had roses the first time.
