round mirror on 60 inch round table

C, on September 4, 2015 at 10:11 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 6

At my reception, I will have 60" round tables (with 8-10 people at each table). My centerpiece will probably be a pillar candle inside a cylinder vase, with smaller votive candles surrounding the vase. I have an opportunity get 14" round mirrors for free, but I cannot get a good sense of what a 14" mirror in the middle of a 60" round table will look like. I am concerned that the mirror will take up too much space, and make the table seem crowded (especially since there will be potentially 10 place settings at the table).

If anyone has done round mirrors on 60" tables, I would love to see pictures so I can get a better gauge of how it will look in the end.

Thanks!

Take them! The local rental companies near me rent out 12 inches so I think 14 inches will be fine and leave plenty of spaces on the table. If you're worried about cramping stick with the lower number of 8 or 9.

12" for place setting, 11" space, 14" mirror, 11" space, 12" for opposite place setting equals 60"

If you don't have a 60" round table at home, take some chalk and draw a 60" circle on your driveway, then add circles for mirror and place settings.

    Thanks for the input!

Anelyse - Yes, we are going to try and stick to 8 or 9 per table if we can, but we're not sure if it will work until we start getting RSVPs. Our reception space can only hold a max of 9 tables, and we are inviting 89 people. We know that it is unlikely that everyone will come, but we just won't know for sure.

Nancy T. - The chalk is a great idea, which I never would have thought of. Also, it helps to have the measurements broken down like that. Thanks!

Hi! Did you end up getting the 14" mirrors? How did it work out. I am thinking of the same size and using different sizes to make a dessert stand. The 14" size are expensive. Were you able to borrow them?

    Has anyone tried using 2 or 3 square 12 x 12 mirrors on a 60 inch round?
