RSVP card wording

Amber, on April 27, 2017 at 10:36 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

I need some opinions about the wording on the rsvp cards. We are doing our invitations ourselves with the help of an etsy template. I was wondering how you word or worded who is invited on the rsvps. I read somewhere on pinterest "We have reserved two seats in your honor" i liked that but I just wanted to get some ideas and opinions. We are inviting kids that are in our immediate family so I did not want to word it that it is a kid free reception because it is not just kids we are related to due to food cost (it is a 200 plus wedding). I feel like putting this on the rsvp cards people would know that it is just them that are invited, not their kids too.

Thank you!

"We have reserved ___ seats in your honor" is just fine.

Hi Amber! Don't forget to include an RSVP deadline date (needs to give you enough time to receive the RSVPs, follow-up with guests who didn't respond, and get your final numbers to your caterer or venue by their deadline)!

Oh totally have the number of seats reserved on the RSVP. We didn't do that and I am kicking myself for it. I already got one back that had a 3 written on the accepts line even though the invitation was only addressed to the parents and not the 19 year old.

Thank you everyone! WWlynnie, I already included all of that, but thank you! Chelsea I have heard horror stories which is why I wanted to do this. I don't want to be mean but when food is 32$ a plate plus cocktail hour I can't afford to feed everyone.

OP, are you doing a plated meal? If so you could do what we did. We had an RSVP card but also put these little business card things in with the invitation. I put in the number of cards for however many seats reserved for them. It was truly foolproof! Even wrote "+1" on the Guest Name line and people's names so there was no confusion.

We put how many seats were reserved. People will get it. If they have kids but only 2 spots they'll know. Plus you would only address the invite to the couple. Not family.

This is a really helpful post in my case too. We don't want to invite children and want a polite way to say this. Definitely going to be using this!

Would you (the bride/groom) fill in the blank space?
