RSVP Cards- do i need the number attending section that i put on?

Brigit, on April 7, 2015 at 10:27 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 14

I made this RSVP card to go with my invitation. does it look too crowded, i feel like having the number attending section is odd to have on there but i know many of you ladies have had issues with RSVPs and it could be helpful if i pre-fill in the number before sending it out.

Any thoughts?

I had "we have reserved __ seats for you" which worked well, except for the people who were single, because those said "we have reserved 1 seats for you" instead of 1 seat ...

    but that looks good!

It looks a bit crowded. Maybe make the font smaller on the selections, and then get rid of the number attending section. You can also put the number accepts/regrets on the left side under the names, and then stack the food choices on the other side. This would give it a cleaner look. So:

    ___Accepts __Food 1

    ___Regrets __Food 2

    __Food 3

I just finished doing mine this weekend. I used "____ of ____ will attend". I plan on filling in the second blank with the number of seats for that invite. The wording and placement on number attending is a little odd and can be a little confusing. Maybe if you said something like "number of seats reserved" as the first box, then had accepts and regrets?

I don't think it looks crowed, but you do NOT want to just let them decide who is attending. YOU decide and let them know how many seats you've reserved or you'll get all kinds of people adding guests.

I am doing 2 lines, "We have reserved __ seat(s) for you" and "__ attending" but I have also seen

    "M_______________________

    ____ out of ___ attending"

and you fill in the second number to indicate the number of invitees

I completely regret not having mine say "We have reserved ___ seats for you."

Our wedding is Mother's Day weekend, so everyone's kids are coming home and their parents think they're included even though the invite was very specifically addressed. 30 something, college age... you name it. And their parents INCLUDED THEM on the RSVP. We've seriously had at least 6 extra "kids" added. People I don't even know!!! It's out of hand.

Please, for your sanity's sake- tell them how many seats they have!!!

Thanks for the suggestions, i did want to include where i could write the number of guests but wasn't sure how to write it and thought it looked odd the way i have it.

"We have reserved ___ seats for you." is a good way to do it i may do the ___ out of ___ seats reserved

Ours also said "We have reserved __ seats in your honor." That way there's no confusion. Hopefully it works.

It really stinks that we need to specify, i have always gone by who the invitation was addressed to and have never thought to add additional people onto the RSVP.

i have a feeling that some people in my FHs family would write in names, such as his great aunt- she is mad her kids (adults) aren't invited to our wedding or FSILs wedding.

I wish we would've included the "number of seats reserved for you" option although with our families I really doubt it would've helped...
