rsvp date?

Shannon, on June 9, 2019 at 9:09 AM Posted in Planning 0 10
So my caterer needs a final head count at least 7 days before my event. The hotel block I reserved only allows reservations until a month before. When should I set my RSVP date for? I originally had it set for 4 days before the cut off for the hotel but now I’m not sure.

I would do a couple of weeks before the cutoff, or at least a week to give yourself time to hunt down non RSVPers

I would make it 1-2 weeks before your caterer needs a final headcount, so 2-3 weeks before the wedding. A week or two should be plenty of time to follow up with stragglers.

I would also do 1-2 weeks before the caterer needs the count. Don’t worry about the hotel block. People will book before it ends or not, but a lot of times you can get just as good of a discount by using AAA, paying in advance or searching travel sites.

I set mine a month before the wedding date so that it would be the same as the hotel block and so that we would have time to follow up with people before the count is needed to the venue.

I would do it a week or two before caterer needs final numbers. If people miss the hotel cutoff they can find a different hotel to stay at.

My hotel block closes a month before the event date. It ends 6/20, so I set my RSVPs to be due by 6/15 so I had time to follow up with guests before the block closes. Yes, there are other hotels, but the cost without the block discount has skyrocketed because it's summer.

Our RSVP date was 10 days before any vendor needed it (so 40 days before our wedding). So I have 10 days to track down everyone who didn't respond.
