RSVP e-mailing and phone calls??

Mrs. Captain America, on November 25, 2013 at 8:04 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 11

So I might be missing something, but I got someone's wedding invite in the mail recently and I was surprised to see that the RSVP card just had an e-mail address and phone number. It said to either e-mail, text or call your response and that was it.

Is this a new thing? Have any of you used this/or are going to use it?

I guess it's just the way they prefer to be contacted.

Ive seen a lot of ladies here doing online RSVP's. I prefer the traditional.

That's a bit informal in my book. Hey, whatever floats your boat. Maybe they are going green with their wedding?

I see this a lot because most people will email or text their response any ways.

My FH and I are using it. We're both teachers and we're paying for the whole wedding ourselves..and this method saves us time and money. One of my best friends got married last weekend and she had e-mail/text/call RSVPs and it worked out great!

We are doing a combination of traditional and online. We are having a destination beach wedding in FL, for which I included RSVP cards and accommodation cards with the invitation. We are doing another reception when we come home, and for that I plan on doing online RSVP to out Wedding Wire page, or they can can call. Part of me hopes no one is put off by doing it online or over the phone, and part of me thinks if they are they can stay home! Smiley smile

Cool, thanks guys! That was the first time I had seen or heard of it. I wonder if it would be wise to send rsvp cards to the older guests whom I know don't use computers, and give everyone else the route of e-mail/call/text?

I think using the rsvp cards for older guests is also a great idea!

My cousin did it for his wedding. They had an RSVP page on their wedding website and a phone number.

I was thinking about doing it, but I freaking love getting mail. Plus we did postcard RSVPs so they were cheaper postage-wise.

I got one like this too. To each their own. I wouldn't do it but I can see how it is appealing.

Like a lot of things it depends on who you are inviting.

most anyone that I know never send things in the regular post.

there are people on my guest list that admit they have never used a stamp in their lives!

if I tried to get them to send something back in through the post they probably wouldn't know how to go about it!

so yes, my invites have a phone number and email on them.
