rsvp on Zola gone wrong

Nodame, on March 3, 2020 at 9:25 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
So I have noticed that a couple random people have been able to RSVP on my wedding reception on Zola website!
They have even been able to choose their dinner choice 😳
I don’t have them on my guest list, so how in the world are they able to RSVP??
Has anyone had the same problem before? Is there a setting I could turn off to prevent this from happening?

    That's crazy!

I would say you could make your website private but then you would have to have sent your guests a password.

Otherwise, I would just ignore those RSVPs and just count those who are invited

That is so strange! I’m assuming you’ve sent invitations out already? If so, you can’t add a password. I would just continue on with normal headcount of actual invited guests, who RSVP yes. You could also reach out to the the person who you know, if you feel comfortable, and say sorry but you have limited space and unfortunately don’t have space for them?

Could it be that you had them as a “guest” to someone and the main guest populated the name? We had some plus ones that I didn’t recognize but it wasn’t that someone could go on and give themselves an RSVP...they had to unlock the RSVP through the main guest’s name.

@N: that’s what I thought too, but then wouldn’t it say ‘John Doe’ guest of ‘Known Person’?
In this case, ‘John Doe’ is stand-alone, and RSVP’ed for just one person (themselves)

I would try to reach someone at Zola to talk to about this. Maybe it's a glitch on their end. Maybe this unknown person was trying to RSVP to someone else's wedding, and it accidentally populated it on yours.

I'm not super tech savvy, so I'm not sure this is even possible. But it's something I would want to check on to make sure.
