RSVP online only?

Has anyone done RSVP online only? I've been playing around with invitations today and found one that I really like on Zazzle. However, I am having an issue with paying almost the same amount of money for a matching response card. (It's just me being frugal.) I know we are inviting guest who will have no issue using a website to respond, if anything I think it will be easier for our guest.

Also, It seems like many of you lately on here have recently commented that you have been receiving your responses online. So my question is, how did you let guest know to go to the website to RSVP? Did you put it on the invitation, front or back? Or did you still include response card and I just need to suck it up and pay for them?

I like the idea of online but how did you let guest know to go online? Did you put it on actual invite, front or back? Or did you still attach a separate response card?

The concept of a response card defeats the purpose of saving money. I sent STDs bc 75% of my guests had to hop on plane to get to the wedding. The website information was located on the STD. We also let everyone know word of mouth.

I did online with the option to call/text for guests who were older and/or less computer savvy. So far it has worked out really well. I ordered invites from Wedding Paper Divas and made RSVP inserts using cardstock.

We had a little card with information for the website, and just added this on to!

We did it online and I'm so glad we did. We had to hunt down 70 out of 170 RSVPs, I can't imagine having spent the money on response cards and postage to only have 70 of them not be sent back. We ordered our invitations off of Vista Print, then also custom designed business cards as the insert card that listed the entree choices, RSVP date, and website to RSVP at. Since they were business cards we got 150 of them for like $10, which is way cheaper than individual response cards would have been.

We are doing mostly online RSVPs, and providing traditional RSVPs to our more non-computer savvy guests.

Wish we did! Very few are actually responding the old fashioned way.

We did online only RSVPs. It's not been a problem at all. We did buy a separate information card to include in the invites, but we saved money buy not buying the additional postage, envelope and stamp. My guests have had no issues and we've had a great response rate so far.

Yup, online is the way to go! I'd even take email, text and in person, but I'm extremely non-traditional and having a casual wedding.

I'm giving guests my email address & website to rsvp to. I'm not including a rsvp card in the invite

I think people are MUCH more likely to forget to RSVP, and unless everyone you are inviting is under 35... you will have older guests who really struggle with this.

My parents went to two weddings this year that was RSVP online only. I went the traditional route and did cards, but let them know about the online option too. That said, I printed my own invites so it didn't cost that much. As long as all your guests are online saavy I think it's fine. My grandmother doesn't own a computer and neither does another guest of mine so it actually wouldn't have worked for everyone (but the majority yes).

edit: I have realize I think I have more than 2 guests without a computer. Seriously. I don't know how it's possible but I have several older people invited with flip phones and no computer. Seriously.

I had everyone RSVP online through the site to save money and ended up with very few responses. I had to call a lot of my guests. Granted we had a family only ceremony...there were only 30 or so numbers we had to call.

Don't use the Knot (not that you were thinking about it) - their rsvp link wasn't working this evening. I built my site on there first then was just too lazy to do another one.

We actually set today as our rsvp deadline. We did postcard and online rsvp options. I was surprised at how many postcards I got back. As of now, we have to follow up with 29 parties making up 75 people. On the plus side we have heard back (either way) from 229 people as of our stupid early deadline.

I think FH may have had a flip phone as recently as a 3-4 years ago! (But he only turned 41 yesterday so I have no explanation for that.)

I used zazzle as well and on the back of my invite, I wrote the RSVP information and gave my wedding website, our email and our phone numbers giving everyone options as to how they want to rsvp....

This is awesome and plan on doing this same thing. I was worried it would be a hassle.
