RSVP options

msushell, on April 20, 2010 at 1:30 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 8

I am making my own invitations for 250 people and dont want to send rsvp cards prepostage.....its seems like such a waste of my low budget. Is is tacky to say at the end to rsvp per phone by 2 weeks in advance? OR how do you set up a rsvp website option??

Did you make a wedding website? Make Everyone RSVP on there. Put on the invite RSVP @ weddingwire.com/ your page name. Just a suggestion

Online is definitely gonna be your best bet. But for people who aren't so internet savvy (grandma?) maybe just put a paper rsvp in theres? or call them to ask? I'm not sure =\

I understand wanting to cut the cost.. but do you really want to be taking that many calls (like 100 of them!!) 2 weeks before your wedding?

Online rsvp's are great if majority of your guests use the internet (and are not anti-computer like my grandparents and all the older people who will be attending our wedding)

You could customize postcards as RSVP's from vistaprint (less than $15) and then you'd only have to use a postcard stamp (about 23 cents I believe). We are planning on doing that and we don't expect it to cost more than $50 with postage included.

If you have 250 guests, hopefully you only have about 100-150 invites to send (1 per household). My brother-in-law made the mistake of ordering one STD for each guest and realized it was twice as many as they actually needed. And we were on track to do that too until just the other day!!! lol silly, but easy to make mistake! Smiley smile

It's totally fine to not include RSVP cards. The once considered necesary item is becoming less and less popular (more money to buy, more postage, less green, etc). It's fine to include your phone number but I would suggest leaving an email address as well. People are more likely to email (or respond on a wedding website) than phone.

Postcard stamps are currently $.28. Slightly more than half the cost of regular postage, but still, it'll save you ~$25 on 150 invites!

We did our RSVPs via email and asked people to make them by a certain date. We still ended up calling a bunch of people, but that seems to be standard no matter WHAT you do.
