rsvp Questions

EmeraldBride, on March 28, 2021 at 4:51 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 6

I am utilizing an online RSVP format. I have the following that I am considering:

- Do you have any song requests?

- Just for fun, what would be the best midnight snack?

- What is your email? This will be used to quickly notify you of any changes.

- Just for fun, where should we go on our honeymoon?

- What is the best piece of marriage advice you've ever received?

- Leave us a note!

Am I missing anything? Is there anything I have on there that seems redundant or unnecessary? I am definitely keeping song requests and the email questions. The midnight snack is something we are considering to help sober up people before going home since it is going to be on our property. Smiley smile Any thoughts are appreciated!

Great questions to ask! I especially love the song request question. Are you giving them options for voting on the midnight snack or honeymoon? If you're hoping to make a decision based on the responses to those questions, you might have an easier time if guests are choosing from 3-4 predetermined options, rather than getting 100 different answers. Also, if you are doing a plated meal, are you also adding a question for their meal choice? And also, you could also have a station next to your guest book asking people for marriage advice instead of asking on the RSVP! That would help reduce the number of questions guests need to answer when they RSVP. Something along these lines (both images found on Google):

Personally I'd leave off the honeymoon question and I'd put the advice question as something for guests to do at the reception.

So part of the reason why I put the advice question, is so that people who RSVP 'no' can partake in it... but after thinking about it. I think the 'Leave a note!' will allow them to do just that. Smiley smile I will see if we can do multiple choice for the late night snack - we have a couple of ideas in mind such as little ceaser's pizza, taco bell party boxes, or seeing if one of the restaurants in town will deliver easy finger bar foods/appetizers. I'm thinking the first 2 on the list are the most budget friendly.

I like the song request / leave a note idea! My only hesitation with the snack/honeymoon questions is that you might still be receiving RSVPs two weeks or so before your wedding. You definitely want to have your honeymoon booked before that 😀 And you might need to have the snack planned too, depending if the cater is doing it, etc.

For a plated meal, ask their dinner choice with detailed selection. Someone might normally pick beef but if it has a certain sauce or topping (mushrooms as an example) then guests may choose the chicken instead. Also make sure to ask about dietary restrictions and allergies.
