rsvp Reminders?!

Theadra, on March 3, 2020 at 1:46 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

Hello beautiful brides,

Our wedding is 3 months away (117 days) and barely know one hasn't rsvp on my side. Hubby has had like 3 friends on his side rsvp so far. Background story: Families knew since last May 2019, invites sent out in Dec 2019, and our invitations have our rsvp date as May 3rd ( we saw 6-8 weeks is a good range). Wedding is June 28th. Now, I'm not worried. I just don't want to call every single person when it comes close to the end. My mom, especially are close with all of her siblings and they talk all the time, if not like everyday(which is majority of my guest list, her side). And my dad is like maybe 5. So that's why I don't feel the need to call every single person. 90% of our guests are out of state , so I was just wondering if rsvp reminders are a thing? Worth it? Has anyone done them before? Let me know! Thanks in advance Smiley smile

So unfortunately you sent your invitations out too early and people probably set them aside because they saw how far away the wedding was. I wouldn’t follow up or remind people before your RSVP date passes. I would also guess right now people would be hesitant to book travel with the state of things happening in the world.

My family especially my mom side are all very close knit. She has 9 siblings but like 7 sisters and they talk 24/7 . So hearing their niece, especially the first one getting married was a huge and exciting thing for them. My mom and I constantly would be asked for months when our wedding was , even last summer so they can book and start planning. My side is huge and hubbys is small, so basically we went out the invites because of them. Plus they're a lot farther New York, hubby (Texas). As the bride you're just weighting options , while your man just chills. This question is just basically for me to know. No relating to his side really lol

I get it! 99% of our guests had to travel to our wedding as well and we sent out save the dates with a link to our website so people could start making travel plans. I just wouldn’t remind or follow up before the given RSVP date because that’s the whole point of that date.

I haven't RSVPed for a wedding more than 60 days out ever, so I assume most your RSVPs will come in April and May. I assume you'll have to contact people to remind them after your RSVP date passes since your invites went out so early.

Yeah I only did it since my family knew it was coming and kept asking my mom and I the date for months . I agree I just have to wait until at least 2 months out .

My RSVP deadline is March 15 for my May 2 wedding. Most of my fiancé’s side has sent theirs back. It’s my side that is being annoying. It’s very frustrating and inconsiderate, but I just have the attitude that if they don’t RSVP, they don’t eat. 🤷🏼‍♀️
