rsvp sending out -help

Mercedes, on July 28, 2019 at 10:06 PM Posted in Planning 0 16
I'm not sure when to send out my Save the Dates. My wedding is a kind of a destination/lengthy travel for our friends and family. My family and friends live about 2.5 hours to where the city is of our wedding. My app tells me to send them out by July 23rd, 2019. but it seems super early. My wedding date is August 8,2020. It makes sense because everyone lives awhile away but when should I send out my RSVPS?

Save the dates are usually sent about 10 months before hand. So for your wedding that would be around November. I would send them before Thanksgiving, and include some hotel information for your guests. Invites should be sent out about 6 to 8 weeks before your final count is due. Factor in a week so you can track down people who dont respond, so closer to 9 or 10 weeks. With it only being 2.5 hours away, most people wont need to get airfare and will probably just need to book a hotel/any time off work they may need. So the standard time frames for save the dates and invites are perfectly fine.

Save the dates are generally sent out 6-8 months before your wedding. Your invitations are sent 6-8 weeks before your wedding. I’d set your RSVP date about a week and a half to 2 weeks before your final head count is due. This gives you time to follow up with late RSVP’ers and still get your headcount in on time.

I wouldn’t do close to Christmas, I feel like it would slip people’s minds because of the busy holidays. I would do it right after Christmas.

I have the the same situation as you, my wedding is 2 hours from us and I sent them out 7 months ahead.... I felt anything earlier than that would be forgotten.

My wedding is April 2020 and my family also has a 2-3 hour drive. I’m sending ours out next month so that will be about 8 months prior.

We sent ours out about 11 months in advance. Our date is 3 weeks before Christmas and we have quite a few travelers.

RSVP’s aren’t sent with save the dates. Save the dates can go out 6-10 months before the wedding and invitations with RSVPs 6-10 weeks before.

My wedding is October 13th 2019. I sent my Save the Dates in November, December of 2018 and January 2019. Ours is a DW as well so I wanted ample time for people to have the information. It took me three months because some personal stuff going on in my life but it worked out. I also sent my invites pretty early (3-4 months mark) again because its multiple states away for everyone and during peak season so wanted ample time for people to find accommodations. Your RSVPs will go when you do your invitation though. So you don't have to worry about that until like June of 2020.

That is a good question. I was wondering that myself. My date is 1 week before you. I guess I should get on the ball with making my save the dates.

Usually between 8 and 10 months prior. I asked a invitations manager at a bridal show this past weekend the same question. That's ample time

Before a year away is too early, in my book .... I think seeing the date before the date has passed that calendar year just confuses people. For our late August wedding, I think we sent save the dates around the end of January.

As soon as possible. You want to give your guest plenty of time to get time off and save money if they need to. Friend of mine is getting married in 2021 in Hawaii and she has already sent out her save the dates. The sooner the better.

Hi there.. Congratulations! Up to 6 months for a "destination" wedding is about right. My husband and I also had a destination wedding with a 4 hour drive for most people. We were married in April, but sent out save the dates out in mid November.

Since your wedding will be a bit of a drive for your guest, sending out your save the date early will allow people to plan accordingly. Especially since they will most likely be staying the night.

This isn't the RSVP date, its just a reminded to save your date... So no harm in sending it out early. Smiley smile

Hope this helps. By the way, keep checking my blog therosegoldbride.com I have a couple of posts in the near future covering more about this topic.
