rsvp Tool for Events

Alicin, on April 12, 2018 at 11:51 AM Posted in Account Support 0 14

Hello!

I had to add an event to my wedding but my guests cant RSVP to it. The only options they have to RSVP to are the wedding ceremony and the reception but I need them to be able to RSVP to the additional event I created!

How can I add it to my website so it shows up as an RSVP-able event when they type in their names on the RSVP section?

Help!

What did you use as the RSVP tool? Wedding wire?...You might have to go in and edit the RSVP tool where you created the ceremony and reception list and add another event to that. If it doesn't give you that option maybe it doesnt allow for multiple events and you need to create a separate rsvp form perhaps?

I used the WeddingWire RSVP tool. I added an extra event and imported the guest list from the ceremony.
I went to my WeddingWire website to "test" to see if the new event populated when someone typed in their name to RSVP and it only populates the ceremony and reception and not the additional dinner event I created for the rehearsal.
    A little more detail:
We are getting married in Las Vegas, and our rehearsal dinner is open for anyone who is already in town for the wedding and needs something to do and wants to come hangout. So i want everyone to be able to RSVP to the event if they want to attend. If that makes sense. I just cant get it to add to the website.
Hope that explains my predicament a little better.
    Thanks.

Hi Alicin! There are two more steps you need to take in order for the RSVP option to publicly display for your additional event!

First - you need to enable tracking in your Guest List . Open the Guest List tool and go to the tab for your additional event, then click on Settings. Under Event Settings you need to check the box next to "Track invitations for this event", and don't forget to scroll down and hit Save!

Second - you need to add the event to the RSVP section of your wedding website! Open your website editor and go to the RSVP page. Hover over the RSVP section and click on the wrench icon to open a pop-up window called Manage RSVP Tool. Check the boxes next to all of your events you want to enable RSVP functionality for, and don't forget to click Save Changes.

With the new change, this options are no longer available. Is there a way to deactivate ceremony rsvp option with the nee changes?

    thanks,

    Erika

Hi Erika! WIth the new changes, any event in your guest list with guests will display in the RSVP options! To remove an event from being an online RSVP option you'll need to delete all of the guests out of the event.

You can check out step-by-step directions here: How to Turn Off RSVP Functionality for Events.

    Hi Lynnie,

I am having a related issue! When setting up the RSVP we do not see the options for "When Searching for their name to RSVP, guests must provide..."

Additionally, is there anyway in which we can add to the RSVP the option for our guests to add their e-mail address?

    Thank you so much,

    Emily

Hi Emily! I apologize - that's an outdated screenshot!! We've revamped our planning tools since then, so you will no longer see that "guests must provide.." section.

If you would like your guests to include their email address when they RSVP, I recommend adding that note in the text field above the guest search! There is an optional text field when your guests RSVP where they could include their email address if you instruct them to do so!

I have entered all my guests in my list. However, when I go to try and RSVP like a guest would, no results are found. I imagine there is some sort of activation required but can't seem to find it? I don't want to track their food or create a seating chart, just want them to simple RSVP to our wedding. HELP

Hi Elizabeth! It sounds like your guests may not be added to a specific wedding event. We recommend heading to your Guest List tool, clicking into the wedding event you would like guests to RSVP to and then clicking the '+ Guest' button. If you have any trouble, please don't hesitate to reach out to our Support Team at help@weddingwire.com and we would be happy to take a look!

Looks like your website has been updated and all the previous instructions doesn't seem to apply. I do not see the guest list option to track invitations and RSVP!

Please send update instructions on how to set up the RSVP option for the wedding website. I have already updated the guest list for weddingwire.

Hi Theresa! As long as your guests have been added to the wedding event within your Guest List tool, guests will be able to search and submit an RSVP for that wedding event. If you have any trouble, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at help@weddingwire.com and we would be happy to help!

what I was able to do was search individually for my first name (which my name pulls up), however when I search for just my last name (a different guest shows up). But I am unable to search for my full name as no results show up. Help.
