RSVP wording for online option

Masada, on April 12, 2017 at 12:14 PM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 1 7

Hey everyone, happy Wednesday! I previously sought help on the wording for my mailed RSVP's and got fantastic feedback. Now FH thinks we should also do an online RSVP method. Since I spent so much time on my design, I'd like to also mail the RSVP insert but am now wondering... if you had a mail-in RSVP as well as the online option, how did you word it and where was the information for the online option included?

I usually just include the RSVP link from the wedding website at the bottom of the regular RSVP.

Just add a line at the bottom:

    "RSVP online at weddingwebsite.com/rsvp"

You should still include postage on the cards.

I created both mail RSVPs and online inserts. I made about 30 mail RSVPS because some people are not tech savy and included on the bottom

"Kindly respond by September 20, 2017

we have reserved ___ seat(s) in your honor.

    M_______________________________

    ____Accepts with pleasure

    ___Number attending

    _____declines with regret

please mail back or RSVP at weddingwire.com/ournames"

For the online only RSVPS I put

"Kindly respond by September 20, 2017

we have reserved ____ seat(s) in your honor.

please rsvp on our wedding website: weddingwire.com/ournames"

That's also a good idea NatHam11, that would certainly save me postage.

@Masada, that was some of my point too! Plus computers come easy to majority of people and I know my guests well, so anyone that may have issues I sent a regular mail RSVP. Worst comes to worst, I will call them!

I did both and didn't limit who rec'd a stamped return envelope versus who rec'd the online option.

I ordered a "Details" card and put:

@GymRat, did you feel like you had a better response rate by doing both? I love the wording you included on your details card.

    Thanks!

More people mailed in their cards. I'm assuming it's because they felt like I already spent money on postage? Not sure though.
