Rsvp

Would “Please Text 555-555-5555 to RSVP By August 7” on the wedding invite considered tacky? Trying to be as cost efficient as possible while still avoiding the tackiness.

If you want to save money, do online RSVPs. Texting sounds like a nightmare to keep track of and is super casual. Not to mention, most people aren't going to text you to tell you that they aren't attending.

I did both, either RSVP to my wedding email address, or text... I tried to make it as convenient as possible for everyone seeing as how it’s hard enough as is to get people to RSVP.

We setup a wedding email and had our RSVP's go to that.

I put our wedding website on the reply card and asked everyone to RSVP or text me personally (and put my phone number)

I wouldn't put my phone number bc I don't want ppl bothering me with other nonsense especially on my wedding day.

I've seen someone do that for RSVP. Not sure how it worked for them but there's services where you can use a different # specifically for that purpose of tracking it

I think it's a way to invite a flood of unwanted texts. "Can I bring 10 dates?" "Why didn't you invite your cousin's neighbor's best friend's oldest daughter? She's upset."

Online RSVPs or even an email RSVP would be way less intrusive.

This is my feeling also. People will not respect your phone number.

Not tacky, but sounds highly disorganized and complicated for you to manage! Also, people will see it as being less formal and are probably less likely to RSVP.

Just use a wedding website for RSVPs!

I used online RSVP, offered my number for text, and my wedding email address.
Some people used the website but a lot of people Facebook messaged me or called.
