Rsvps not returned from his list

Susan, on August 25, 2024 at 10:54 AM Posted in Etiquette and Advice 0 7
Ok so I guess this is why it’s bad to assume, lol! My guest list has all sent back their RSVPs but we haven’t received a single one from his list. After speaking to one of his family members I realize that they had no idea how RSVPs work. His mom insists “don’t worry about it. Everyone will show up, we just don’t do things that way.” Ummm…..okay. Do I just count his whole list in the headcount? Do I reach out to each of them individually? Do I dump it in his lap “your people, your responsibility.” 😂 JK but seriously…..has anyone handled a similar situation? I find it wild because RSVPs are pretty straightforward…..or so I assumed. *yes, we all get along great so it’s not a boycott issue. 😂😂

Maybe redo the invites saying -- please respond so maybe you will not be left out in the cold rain with no food while staring in through the windows watching people have fun.

I would ask your fiance to start reaching out to each of his family members around the RSVP deadline to confirm whether they're planning to attend. Your venue and caterer likely need to know final numbers, and getting a response from everyone invited would help you ensure that your caterers have the right amount of food and beverages for everyone.

Thank you! I think that’s exactly what I’m going to do.

I would have either you or your fiancé reach out to each person to confirm their attendance. Trying to make people understand that they need to rsvp is so stressful.

I’d send out emails or texts to his side letting them know that you have to have exact numbers for the caterer so please reach out to let you know if they’re coming.
