I'm sure that each of us Spring/Summer brides are probably waiting around anxiously to receive RSVPs from each of our guests, right?!?!

What are some of your trick(s) that have worked for you that made guests return their RSVPs?

What grinds your gears when it comes to waiting for RSVPs?

I know for me, some guests have said, "I will try to make it to the wedding."

We are doing e-invite with RSVP link that leads them directly to our website. There they can RSVP in under a minute & RSVP doesn’t go through until they fill out all necessary info (name, meal choice, etc. for all forgetful guests lol). It’s super easy for them & at the same time they get to visit website, which has all the wedding info that would be impossible to communicate to all guests otherwise. We are in NYC & most of our people didn’t mail a physical mail in years haha, so I can’t even imagine how mail in RSVPs would work out for us 😳

I think it helps making things easy / strait forward for the guests & also having an intimate wedding where you’re inviting only close people who already know about the wedding & are super excited to be there. This way chances of someone pulling out some rude nonsense are next to none. Last minute emergencies with health, children, work, can happen though, so if someone RSVP yes & then doesn’t end up making it for legitimate reasons, you can’t really get upset 🤷🏻‍♀️

I feel you! I put stamps, a return address, and even got envelopes that no one has to lick! I made it super easy!! Our RSVP date is tomorrow, but we only got like 40% back so far! I left myself a buffer since I knew that I would have to chase after people, but like everyone?!

I am so annoyed because anytime I reach out to anyone, they are like "we will be there" but are not sending it back and I am like how does this make sense in your head?! I tell them that so and so said that for months and then RSVPed no, so you telling me months ago is not a response. Or when I spoke to my cousin and she was listing all these people and I am like "oh that is nice that they are RSVPing to you..."

Trust me in that people do not look at these things! My bridal shower information was on two spots on the bridal shower invitation (we are doing a display shower which was on a separate card). So many people have contacted me personally to ask if I was registered somewhere! I gave them the website, but was left wondering what is going on!

I was shocked at how many people have not RSVPed and they had weddings so they know how this goes!! I think it is rude to not send anything back too!

Im not looking forward to this at all! I sent invites out last week with a RSVP deadline June 18 (a little early for our wedding but caterer needs final headcount 1 month prior, this gives me a slight buffer to reach out to folks). I was hoping people would RSVP after they opened the invite but we haven't received any yet. We're using theknot for RSVPs so I don't have to wait on mail or worry about them getting lost.

I thought about this for a split second and I am not convinced that people would have done that either! So many people have contacted me asking if I am registered when it is on the bridal shower invitation!

Oh my! The waiting period is so tiring & I'm so anxious to know who can make it! Some guests said they will try their best to me & that's not a good/reasonable answer. We will be paying per person + child, so it can get stressful. I need to know ASAP by the RSVP who can't make it because then we'll invite other people to make sure we have exact or close to 200 guests. The only method that works is reminding them by messaging guests & saying I can RSVP for them.

I am already not looking forward to this. I am sending mine out super early because I assume I will have issues with my large and unwieldy Irish family. I know I'll have to reign some people in.

Actually mine was totally different I got my RSVP's back very fast, especially from a family friend on my side that is pretty lazy about most things in her life. I was very surprised when I received her's ASAP, for her and her fiance to be confirming they would be there. (As it turned out she decided to be a no show as well as FH, I wasn't too surprised about it ).

I want to put that on our invites!! Debating if I need a separate card or if I could put it on the invite itself. Did you put it at the bottom of the actual invite?

I just did the Zola RSVP website, which in my opinion is awesome! We are having a somewhat laid back wedding, so I think it is fitting. Most of our generation understands it, but, anyone a generation before us is so confused "there was nowhere to RSVP". It says on the back in big black bold letters PLEASE RSVP AT OUR WEBSITE BY MAY 22 (in prettier words, tehe). Good luck ladies!

No problem as long as it is not a formal wedding or you want the inserts I don’t see a need. However I did put my number for older guest.

I’ve gotten a couple with no names (thankfully I numbered them with an invisible ink marker) and one with no meal selection, so nothing too exciting, HOWEVER I did get 2 RSVP postcards back with the invite still attached to it. I used the minted all-in-one invites and I guess those people didn’t realize the RSVP postcard was perforated 🤣. They kinda folded it back up so my address and stamp were on the outside and taped it back together. Hopefully their family members make sure they know the details of the wedding when the day comes.
