I know a lot of people are going to find this odd and that's okay, I'm just looking for some ideas if this could potentially work or if I'm just a big child at heart. I know a lot of people are going to find this odd and that's okay, I'm just looking for some ideas if this could potentially work or if I'm just a big child at heart. Okay so both myself and my FH are very family oriented. Both of our grandfather's have passed several years ago but we still want to keep them.in mind on our special day. So since my grandfather passing, he has left several signs of rubber ducks showing me that he's still a part of my life. So on our wedding day I wanted to run with that. Not too in your face but just enough small details like a wedding topper of rubber ducks and maybe a few small decorations around the reception. My FH is on board because he knows what it means to me, but I don't want this to come of as silly or immature. Any advice would help. Thanks guys.

I attended a wedding with a rubber ducky "theme." The bridesmaids wore aqua blue, the bouquets were orange and yellow, and they had a rubber ducky bride and groom on the cake. I *think* the cake was light blue with white polka dots (bubbles).

I love the pp's suggestions of socks and a cake topper. Also, since you will be displaying a photo, putting a small duck next to the photo could be nice...but I wouldn't do more than that. :-)

I think it's adorable. If you're planning a more casual event then you could do more besides cake toppers. For an October wedding you could go ahead and use yellow as one of your colors and have sunflowers in your bouquet. I love it.

You could have a blue and yellow theme and incorporate the duckies into the decor. You can be as big or as subtle you want!

Cake topper is cute. Spin off from your rubber ducks... Ducks like ponds/lakes so cat tail, tall grasses, and feather for centerpieces. More elegant then the ducky pond at a carnival.

I love the idea. I think you should def use the cake toppers. But I also think you should do whatever you want with as much as you want. If it's going to be a HUGE part, then just make your guests aware.

Bear with me as I try to explain my idea...

It sounds like rubber ducks mean a lot to you. Maybe you could consider secretly hiding rubber ducks throughout the ceremony and reception area. It can become a kids' activity for them to see how many they can find. You can put some out in the open, but make other trickier to find (like etching a rubber duck shape into your cake icing on a side that isn't very visible). Look into the how Disney hides Mickey Mouse heads throughout their theme park - that's kind of where this idea is coming from.

Also consider adding a note in the program that explains the reasoning behind the rubber ducks. It's a touching story and I bet it would be very memorable for your guests.

Rubber duck and bubble bath favors!?!? That sounds pretty cute! But other than the cake topper I would keep it out of the decore
