Rules to kiss....

Tanya , on August 2, 2012 at 11:46 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 14

My Fiance and I are wanting to get our guests away from the traditional clinking of the glasses in order for us to kiss at our reception. We've seen the "sing a song with the word love in it" idea done, so we are looking for fun and/or inventive ideas to replace the clinking. What have you done or have seen done at other weddings? We are open to all suggestions!

    Well my fiance and I are considering "teach us how to kiss". A bride on here posted about it before and I kinda stole it. The idea is to have all couples put their names in something to draw them out of. Have the DJ draw the bames at random intervals. When the couple is called they have to stand up and show you how to kiss and then you copy. An example would be if the guy dils the girl then the groom dips the bride. I hope this helps.

    MyLo and I went to a wedding where they did this. The kiss we were chosen for was woman straddles man tips the chair back and plants a wet one.

    You can also do kisses came from movies.

    That's a really cute idea! I'm going to see if I can find it on youtube somewhere.

    I believe it was on Four Weddings. The couple required you to sing if you wanted them to kiss. It turned out cute. Groups of people got up and sang together.

    I've also seen a version of the above mentioned. Where people put their names into a bin. If people want you to kiss, you draw out a name and that person has to kiss someone sitting next to them. Hopefully it's their spouse/significant other; but for some people who are single at the wedding...can get a little interesting.

    I don't want to put anyone specific on the spot. Just looking for something that's fun but not overdone

    We are doing the RSVP Kissing game. We are giving our DJ our RSVP cards and another couple has to kiss when everyone thinks it is us to kiss. I think it will be a fun surprise to our guests! We dont mind kissing, but I dont find it funny when people make you move across the room to do it, we are having an outdoor backyard reception, we wanted something more fun!

    I just want to stay away from the whole "do something to get us to kiss" thing. Personally I just think it's weird... I don't want to have to kiss him on the spot just because someone is ringing a bell in my face.

    We'll take any opportunity we can to kiss... especially on our Wedding day! Just trying to stay away from a continuous clinking of the glass as it gets old really fast!

    When people sign the guest books, we're having our two book attendants have the couples write down their name on a peace of paper and put it in a fish bowl. Then once they start clinking the DJ will be drawing out a name and they have to kiss before we do. We're going to "fix" it so our parents and Grandparents are some of the first people drawn Smiley smile

    @Tyler S - I LOVE that idea!!

    @ Tanya - nice avatar! lol I did a double take when I saw your post! We are doing Choc covered strawberries as our cake topper and then smaller ones for our guests.

    I never even thought about doing something different for the kissing.

    This is what I am having our DJ announce during the cocktail hour a couple times...just to make sure everyone hears and understands. =)

    Because the Rodriguez’s are so grateful for your love and support, they would like to give you all a gift tonight. Instead of having them kiss the ringing starts…each time the clinking starts, a couple’s name will be pulled from this fishbowl and that couple will have to kiss first, then the bride and groom will kiss.
