Rustic Beauty and the Beast wedding-IDEAS!

Kelsey, on January 29, 2015 at 11:42 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 19

So I'm wanting to possibly do a beauty and the beast inspired wedding, I'm just trying to get ideas for something a little more rustic/french countryside kind of feel. I like the vintage, romantic more whimsical look of things. I also want to do as much of it DIY (invites, decor. etc). I've been looking for ideas but everything all kind of gives me the same ideas and a lot of them are kinda cheesy and way too based off the movie (I don't want bright yellow bridesmaids. lol ) I do want the roses and maybe like navy blues or golds.

But any ideas for some things I can look at/DIY?

Or is this a dumb idea? haha

Since you say you don't want it too based on the movie, i'm not sure if you want beauty and the beast or french country. i google imaged french country wedding and the images are beautiful. based on these images i'd suggest:

Venue: vineyard or outdoor park, woods setting

Table Decor: long tables as opposed to rounds, white linens, dark wildflowers in clear vases, accents of gold in the plates, place cards, or whereever

Bridesmaids: maybe cream, rose pink or raisin, and flowy like in Jane Austen movies?

What do you think? ivory, rose and gold with dark wood as the base

That would be really pretty!! And I can totally picture being able to work that all together!

Yeah I love Beauty and the Beast and I would love to incorporate some details from it on my decor (like the roses/flowers in the vases, and have like candles and old vintage tea sets?) I just don't want to go over the top with say like big yellow dresses or anything to "Disney" i guess. Since it takes place in France, thats where I got the idea for the romantic, french country look Smiley smile Almost fairytale like!

And yes to flowy dresses! I love that soft vintage look

Ooh and then I can play up the "Be Our Guest" for invites and such!

Sounds awesome! I did a beauty and the beast wedding, but it wasn't obvious that it was b&tb.

I'll post some pictures for you... just a mintue while I get some.

I think it sounds beautiful. If you want to include teacups, either they can be vases or decor scattered in the centerpieces and on the side tables, or my friend did a vintage wedding before it was a trend and she collected floral china from thrift stores to be her dinner china. it was a buffet so each seat had a mismatched dinner plate, dessert plate, teacup and saucer already set up when you sat down. i think it could be expensive to collect though if you didn't have a plan to reuse it or sell it afterwards. but you could definitely find some teacups at thrifts and yardsales for the decor.

    Picture of our ceremony decor.

Table setting and centerpiece. All the flowers were fake. Lots of red roses.

The sign outside of our cermeony (we didn't do programs). The frame my mom had from an old picture, and the inside is a poster I had made for us.

Book card box that I made.

    Our super awesome book cake!

Wedding party. The colours we used were midnight blue (worn by the wedding party), red (roses and accents and worn by my husband), gold (this was present in the venue), and ivory (also part of the venue)

If you like the idea of tea cups, google "tea cup centerpieces" and you'll see some AWESOME ideas. I almost went with a centerpiece like that, but I didn't have the time to put something like that together.

Your wedding was beautiful!! I lovelovelove the gold touches throughout! And yes lots and lots of roses, you have to have roses for beauty & the beast Smiley winking What colors did you do for the wedding party?

I love the idea of mismatched china! I'll have to start thrifting and yard sale-ing! Smiley smile Maybe to save some cost I could just do it for the wedding party or something? Everyone is so hot for the "vintage" look its hard to find things quick enough! haha but it looks so pretty! Smiley smile Smiley smile

    Thanks. ^_^

For the wedding party we went with a midnight blue ... ish. You can see them in the last picture I posted. The girls had floor length blue dresses and the guys were in tuxes with blue vests and blue pocket squares.

I got the colour idea from the movie. When the castle is cursed it's very dark blue.. navy, midnight blue, royal blue etc. It's a great colour that's not obviously part of the movie.

Also, here is a picture that gave me some inspiration when I was planning. It's abit more rustic which might be what you are looking for. Sorry it's not very high res, I can't find the exact image I used.

LOVE the idea of a beauty and the beast inspired wedding! I might be biased since it's my all time favorite disney movie, though.

A&G, yours turned out great! And Kelsey, please keep posting pics as you take on some of the DIY aspects along the way! :-)

Just wanted to share that FH played Chip on Broadway from Dec '94- Dec '96. (I like to brag about him.) We're toasting with B&B flutes that his mom saved.

You can have red roses under glasses like this: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/138907969729196949/

and alternate between these and add little teacups: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/521010250611546117/

    Good luck!
