Rustic whiskey barrels

Brittany, on March 17, 2014 at 6:04 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 14

Looking for some barrels to use for my December 20th wedding this year at Long Key Nature Center. I've looked into the vintage rental companies and they want to charge an arm and leg. Anyone know where I can find them cheap to rent or maybe even buy?

Check with antique shops -- DH frequently has them at his shop (but none right now).

Call a winery Smiley smile I thought about this myself because I want some to build into my patio and a winery was the first thing I thought since the barrels are almost identical.

We bought one from Home Depot... they are in the garden section for people to use as planters. Ours is a half of a Jim Beam one.

I've called total wine but they wont sell or rent because they are just decor in their shop. I've even called cracker barrel, roadhouse grill, longhorns, and cowboy's saloon.

They are expensive - but hey, you could rent these out after your wedding and make a killing on them!

I've thought about doing something like that, but not for 300. Never thought it would be so tough.

A bit less expensive. . . and also smaller, depending on what you want to use them for, they may work:

Where do you live? In southern california we have some "Rustic Rental" places that have them to rent for the day. Maybe you have some around you?

I would suggest antique shops or put posts online. We have lots of local online tag sales thru facebook here in CT, I've had good luck finding random items.
