Sad to say goodbye or happy to be changing your name?

One of the biggest changes when you get married (besides that whole life partner thing 😜) is if you change your last name! Are you changing your last name? If so, are you excited for your new signature or will you be missing the old? Photo from Wedded Kiss in Raleigh, NC For more post-wedding...

That's awesome! I didn't even think about not matching the same last name as my degrees!

I’m a little sad because the Brannin line ends with me (only child of an only child) but I can’t wait to be a Stallings.

Except that I have the same name as his sister 😂

Sad to say goodbye Smiley sad On the upside I am moving up the alphabet since my current last name begins with a "T" and my new last name begins with an "H"

I am happy to change my last name! My family name is pretty common and I do love it, but I am excited to have the same last name as my FH and our future children Smiley smile

I was honestly so excited to change my last name. I've always hated my maiden name; no one can ever pronounce it and/or they make fun of it and turn it into a negative connotation. But, with all the problems I've been having with the in-laws now and really not liking them at all, I feel sad to be sharing a last name with them and kind of wish I had my maiden name back... or wish husband and I had just created a new last name combing both of ours.

That's awesome! I always wanted to keep my initials the same because I went through a heavy monogram phase!!

I dropped my last name immediately and couldn't wait. Everyone would mispronounce it and struggle to spell it. Good riddance LOL

I'm not sure what I'm going to do! Im not a fan of FHs last name and im really attached to my last name. I want to have the same name as my kids tho. I just wish his name hadn't been changed to an "Americanized" version from the original. I have a few months to figure it out.

To my it is bittersweet. I am super excited to take my husband's name but on the other hand a part of me feels like I'm losing part of myself. My maiden name is pretty Jewish so I feel like I'm losing my Jewish identity whereas my new last name is super Italian. People will just assume I'm Italian instead of being Jewish-that's my struggle. Something I didn't even thing of until after I changed my name...

Maybe you both could change it back to the original name? Is that something our husband would be open to?

I'm excited to change my last name. There is nothing good about my last name. Nothing but bad memories of biological father. Just eager to change my last name to my FH and finally have the same last name as our daughter.
