Saga of the $5 wedding dress Pt. 3

W-K, on August 14, 2019 at 10:12 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 12
I found this dress at the thrift store a few months ago. It was $5 so, of course, I bought it. As a back up in case I couldn’t find something I LOVED. Which, honestly, hasn’t happened within my now pretty much $0 price range. I used to alter my clothing all the time to make it fit better especially since I’m shaped tummy heavy. This dress has a nice structure and drape to it. If I can’t find what I like... why not do it myself? I made the BIG cut tonight to open the neckline. Then I’m going to alter the silhouette slightly as well. I think with the right undergarments this will look much more flattering now!

Looks cute! Like a pinup dress. A looong time ago my mom wanted to buy me a wedding dress when I was like 19 and she actually found one at a thrift store. It was a blush ballgown for $30, but unfortunately I’m tall and it didn’t cover my feet. Thrift stores are a goldmine for gorgeous dresses! Are you going to wear a crinoline under it?

I’m thinking about it. Would definitely give it more of a bridal feel! Pin up is what I’m going for. Was going to do victory rolled hair and all Smiley smile

I think the cut of your dress would look really gorgeous with a satin ribbon at the waist and a colored crinoline for that cute peekaboo appeal. Your dress has lots of fun possibilities!
Pair it with a pinup shoe! These are a pair I own, found on ebay for $20 Any tstrap looking heel would really doll up your dress.

Nice I love those! I’ve been looking for something similar but with a chunkier heel. I haven’t decided on a color for an underskirt yet but wanted my shoes to be my something blue.

That sounds adorable! I think I read a DIY on dyeing crinoline, one bride made hers rainbow! Sky’s the limit. Please post updates with your look! ❤️

Totally! I thought about rainbow with our original theme which was the movie Up. Now I'm thinking more like a red wine color because my sister got her bridesmaid dress before we changed things up and hers happens to be red wine colored.
