Salons instead of Travel hair and make up

Angie, on October 16, 2019 at 9:28 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 11
With required amount of services not being able to be met, what are alternative options to get hair and make up done for the wedding day that have been successful?

Myself and my bridesmaids got our hair and makeup done at Ulta. It was cheaper and everything they did came out beautifully! I would highly recommend them!

Thank you! All my sister's did traveling HMUA and got ready at my parent's, but that doesn't seem to be something doable for me. So I will reach out to Ulta!!

I just went to my old hair salon. They had a girl that specializes in make up too. So, I just scheduled a few appointments for me and my girls, and we went in together and hung out in one corner. They said we could bring in drinks & food and stuff if we wanted too ☺️

I did my own makeup and then went to Great Clips to get my hair done. It worked out great.

Ok. I'm just struggling because I don't go to a salon, so wouldn't even know where to start. I have so many friends that do hair, I have never paid more than $40 to get highlights and cuts done. But glad that others went to a salon!!

Two of my bridesmaids did their own hair. Me and my moh just went to a salon to get ours done.

Why not ask one of them to do it? If they're already coming to the wedding, they could always come to you a little earlier and do it for yoh. Is that an option?

I have thin awkward hair, so want clip in extensions and prefer airbrushed makeup so I won't feel caked and break out since I have super sensitivity when it comes to anything on or near my face. So I'm afraid to do my own, which is why I had mild panic attack over not being able to have travelin HMUA that I had success with for past weddings.

I thought about asking them, but don't want to bother or feel bad if I'm extra picky since I want something a little more "special" than the regular.

For my Brothers wedding, all the girls (9 people including mothers) got their hair and or makeup done at Neroli Salon and Spa. Not sure where you are located or if there's one nearby, but they had a TON of people on hand and scheduled everyone's hair and makeup for certain times. It worked out really well. The Brides hair went a little over a timeline but they accommodated us (much to the dismay of an angry pregnant lady who scheduled to have her hair done to be a guest at a different wedding... turns out she was my second cousins wife hahaha. We didn't know until much later though!). They were very efficient and let us bring in food and champagne at a special little reserved table. I'm pretty sure that's the route I'm going because I'm similar to you where I don't spend much with hair. I'm not much of a girly girl and I don't want to have to worry!

I don't think they'd feel like you were a bother, you're the bride! And as long as you pay them for it, it shouldn't be an issue, I'm having a friend help me with my makeup and she said she was honored I'd ask her to do it for such a special day. Just something to consider Smiley smile
