I dont think it will look silly. You can always do what actors do...bend your knees and tell him to get up on those toes!

Also..is anyone really going to see your shoe that much? I'd probably just go in flats and let him wear shoes with thick soles.

LOL... yea i was going to wear the flip flops for the wedding.. or wear the heels and take em off at the alter, LOL... he doesnt care much however, i am SURE he doesnt want me to tower over him at the alter, lol... so i might just buy em to wear for the cute SHOE picture! LOL.... maybe its a waste of money but the maribelles in red from DB are SO cute, i can wear em with jeans or something another day! ya know?!

Personally, I'm not wearing heels...in addition to not wanting to be taller than the groom, I also think that heels are uncomfortable. I don't want to be standing at the altar thinking, "Ugh, my feet hurt!" But that's me personally.

My FH is about an inch taller than me, and I'll be wearing flats. I've always wanted to be the short one in the relationship, so I really want to shrink a few inches! Haha, I'm weird. But if you feel comfortable in heels, wear them! I don't think it would look funny.

Thanks everyone, i DID order them, but i DO think i will wear the flats down the aisle and the sexy shoes for the first few minutes of the reception. lol.... then its grippy SOCKS anyhow! lol...just the way my family DOES IT, lol... cause im not dancing for 4 hours in heels, lol

I'm wearing sandals but shhhh no one's suppose to know! I'll be taking pictures in the heels with my BM's pre-wedding ceremony and us getting ready and all that. But ceremony will be sandals. And reception I'll have my boots on for our country rustic portion. Lol. I know it seems pointless but the heels make me taller than FH, the boots show with my dress, so sandals will be wore for the ceremony.

I am in the same situation as you. my fiance is 2inches taller than me but we look like we are the same height. if i wear heels, i look like an amazon women next to him! LOL! i never really bothered me, but it is your wedding. just do what you feel is best. if you feel you would look silly, just opt for the flats.

are you getting married on a beach or something? is that why you want to opt for flip flops? I on the other hand am wearing flats since we are getting wed in Maui!

I have the same problem, I am 5'11 and he is 6'1, if I have on heels I will be taller than him. Since I don't want that I am opting for cute flip flops! Besides we are at the beach, perfect!

Hunny, i am 5 inches taller than my fh WITHOUT heels... lol so needless to say, I am wearing flats the whole time... I have just excepted the fact that I am tall, and he is short lol... If we were the same height, I would probably wear heels though!

I'm with J&R S.! I have never understood this arbitrary "rule" that the groom must be taller than the bride. In my first wedding, I was 5'9" and he was 5'7". At the bridal salon, they tried to tell me I must wear flats so I wouldn't look taller than him. I drily pointed out that I would be taller than him even if I were barefoot, and declined to find a different groom to resolve the issue.

Lol... I actually thought about making him wear those shoes that tom cruise wears to make him look taller.. but then it wouldn't be him... and I love him... not a taller him lol

We are the same height too, and I'm going to wear cute pink flats under my dress. I HATE heels, and when I started dating Adam I told him, GREAT, I get to throw out all my heels!! I have an excuse not to wear them anymore!! lol

Well I tend to tell others "who cares if you're taller, embrace it and show it off!", yet when I was taller than a guy I dated, it was the most awkward thing ever! I'm only one inch shorter than FH, but plan to wear flats for ceremony (standing would suck in heels and if your dress is long enough, no one will know anyway) and show off my super cute shoes for pics and when my dress converts to a short one. Look around for deals, it's not really a waste as they will be in all your pics that will last forever! I found mine on overstock, final sale, only $26.
