Sand Artist For Hire

Andreana, on October 29, 2013 at 12:29 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 13

We're getting married in North Myrtle Beach this June on the beach. I thought that it would be nice to have a dragon sculpture made of sand at our ceremony site (we really love dragons). The problem is this, we can't find any sand artists for hire in the Myrtle Beach area. We're doing our best not to hire a wedding planner, but I'm guessing that this is info that a planner would have. Does anybody know of any artist? Please Help!

That is SO cool! I wish I would've thought of that earlier! Now my wedding is two weeks away so I definitely don't have time to plan for this.

Wish I could help you, love. Good luck!

@ SA Bride To Be... google sucks. At least when comes to helping me out with this.

@Jillian...I would greatly appreciate it if you kept a look out for me. It's the only elaborate thing that I want at my simple beach wedding.

If I don't find a sand artist by the new year, I think that I'm going to have to bite the bullet and hire a planner. SMH

Have you tried contacting the person who runs their local edition of the patch?

Eta sorry did a little digging to realize they don't have a patch. Do they have a fb page? Could you post something there?

Maybe you can contact your city and see if they have any info? I'm from long beach and every year they have a sand buliding competition so I know my city offers that. It could be something to check out.

There's a group out of Florida called "Team Sandtastic", and they came to Myrtle Beach a while back. They do weddings. Contact the person at the bottom of their webpage. It's very possible he can hook you up with a local artist, or if it's in your budget, he might be able to work up a quote for you. The term you should be searching is "sand sculptors".

Thank you guys so much! I didn't even think to contact the city directly. And I've sent TeamSandtastic an email already. They're like the only professionals that come up when you google them, but that was a great suggestion. Thanks!

The one thing I was thinking was - research any sand sculpture competitions that take place in your area and then look up the people who were the winners? That might be a good way to find local talent? We usually have lots of sand competitions here near the 4th of July!
